Based on customer reviews, Cedar Haven Family Campground is described as a "nice quiet place" suitable for couples and families. The campground provides various recreational amenities, including toys, bikes, balls, and scooters, as well as ball courts and a swimming pond. The campsites are shaded and feature unique additions like carved benches and Amish "porch swings." The campground also offers affordable firewood and maintains clean and well-kept grounds.
However, some visitors have raised concerns about the condition of the bathroom facilities. Specifically, there were reports of mold in the shower areas, lack of shower doors, and privacy issues with the women's bathroom stalls. Additionally, one reviewer noted the absence of staff on Saturdays, which may be related to Sabbath observance, and suggested having alternative staffing arrangements. There was also a comment regarding perceived overly restrictive life jacket rules for 14-year-olds in the swimming pond.
On the positive side, the campground provides dog walk stations, which is a plus for pet owners. The local area is also considered good.
For local users seeking a quiet, family-friendly campground with recreational amenities, Cedar Haven Family Campground is worth considering. However, potential visitors should be aware of the reported issues with the bathroom facilities and inquire about the current status of these facilities before making a reservation. It is also advised to consider the potential staffing limitations on Saturdays.

A nice quiet place for couples or families. There are several toys, bikes, balls and scooters to play with. Nice ball courts and swimming pond. Cool shaded sites with extras like carved benches and many Amish "porch swings" throughout the campground. The firewood is a bargain and the grounds are clean and well maintained. We enjoyed it so much, we extended our stay. We look forward to returning soon.
Bathroom showers had mold & no doors. Women's bathroom stalls- you could easily see thru the opening between door and frame, plus too small to change in . No one there on sat - yes,I understand the Sabbath, then hire someone who doesn't follow that to be there. 14 yr & under wear a lifejacket in ? 3 ft of water. With an adult present at all times. I get liability, but 14 yr with a parent there and a life jacket . A bit too much. Had dog walk stations. Good local area but I don't want mold and don't expect peepers in bathroom. My husband left the men's bathroom when kids came in, because of the way the men's bathroom was. There Columbus day weekend
Fantastic campsite in Maine. Pond and beautiful sites. Very clean. The store has some fresh baked goods, they do sing a longs on Fridays at the pond. Pizza days and more. Family owned and it shows. dog wash station, lots of play equipment for kids and kayaks for your use on the pond. Loved our stay here !
I came with a group of friends and we tried the vegan pizza at the Moose Lodge Cafe. It was the best vegan pizza I ever had. They also have vegan desserts. I highly recommend this location for vegans and non-vegans who want to try REALLY GOOD FOOD in Maine. The owners are also really personable and friendly. We had a great time. Will definitely visit again!
Very small and quite Campground. With a nice playground for kids. They have scooters, bikes, and kayak that are free to use. The camp store compared to others was very reasonable.
I typically don't write reviews, but I feel like this hidden gem needs to get talked about. From the moment we arrived on this cold, rainy Memorial day weekend, the managers of the campground were incredibly welcoming. Smiles, offering free popcorn, and just very friendly. We found our spot fairly quickly at this smaller campground, everything worked great and no issues with the site itself (we usually prefer a "woodier" site, but we went with friends, and had three spots near the playground for ease of keeping an eye on toddlers. We had toddlers to teens with us, and all loved the playground. Lots of toys, little houses, swings, volleyball, etc for them to play with. When we discovered that the volleyball had been chewed by a dog, the manager had bought a new volleyball for them to play with and really wanted to make sure that they those teens were having a great time. They checked in regularly to make sure we were all set. Very friendly dog campground (really enjoyed meeting our various furry friends!). The bathrooms are IMMACULATE and the campground showers are incredibly clean, have a great water pressure, and have lots of hot water!! But my favorite part was at night. It was overall quiet, but seemed like every teen on this campground got together with the playground as a base and played so many games of camp wide "tag" that we did as kids in the eighties and nineties and there was a not a cell phone in sight. Just genuine good old fashioned fun and I was so happy that neither the campers nor the campground crew had an issue with them using the whole campground as a playground for those games. Thank you for a wonderful, unforgettable Memorial Day camping trip!
We went "off season" for our anniversary. Their season doesn't start until May. So we thought it a miracle any campground was open year round! Nice shady area, level spaces, lots of room, peaceful and so many birds and lil wildlife around. It was so relaxing! Each site had a carved bench, and lil fire pit. There were so many adorable carvings all over the camp. I loved the street names there such as, joy, faith, patience. Had a gorgeous gazebo on the hill, with a walking path up to it. Had a swimming pond, and a huge playground for the kiddos! Besides the two outhouses there is a bath house that's being redone, it looks so nice and modern and the laundry room is being redone too, with a family bathroom in it, and is HEATED! They're adding a bunch more spaces to the campground. There is so much more that wasn't open yet for the season like vegan cafe, and the main office. We only had one issue with the electric on our site, the owner apologized and said that they were doing work on the site and wanted to change it to a 50 amp instead, that they must have shut it off at the box. Complete accident. The owner was so nice and helpful, and we definitely plan to go back!
Very well maintained family campground that's far enough off the highway to be very quiet. You can tell a lot of love and care goes into this place. Nice bathhouse, really cute store.
