Lovely clean USFS campground w pit toilets. Beautiful views. Nice camp hosts. Would stay again. The small tent sites 3,4,5 are very close together and might be cramped if all were full but it wasn’t an issue for my stay.
I often stay at Mt. Princeton camp ground but it was full, this was a fabulous alternative and I believe far superior. Not only do you have water views but it’s much more shallow and the kids can play in the water safely! Randy was a fantastic and informative host. Will return !
We were lucky to get a spot here because all the campgrounds in the area were full. We know why now. This area is beautiful. The campground was very nice. The camp hosts even nicer. We stayed one night on our way home and drove down to the Mount Princeton hot springs, which was a big treat. We will be visiting this place again it was great!
This campground and toilets are well maintained. The camp Host is helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable of the area attractions. The views of the mountain range are spectacular. The location places you right next to Chalk Lake and the stream flowing off of it. Perfect for hiking and fishing. This location is perfect between Mt Princeton Hot Springs and St Elmo. We wish that the location had at least electricity. But for boondocking, it was perfect.
This is a hidden gem. I loved going to this camp site. We were there and no other were due to so late in the season. We had the river sound the snow fell in the early morning and a deer just walks by us. The sites are well kept the small lake is just a walk away. So nice being warped by the large mountains around you.
