Beautiful Campground with a small but still pretty lake for fishing or paddle boarding. The night skies are phenomenal and great for astrophotography (my astrophotography pic was my very first one, so be kind). One big suggestion: if you are going up past the reservoir to the top for hunting, you will want a truck, it's a steep and rough climb, if you don't have a truck, I would say you should hike. The rocks get big and the road gets to 4 wheeling levels. We were lucky enough to get there while it was still in the 70s and the leaves were changing. Go now if you want the same experience!
My friends and I camped out for 2 nights with two dogs. Great & gorgeous getaway for the weekend. We walked around the reservoir several times & hiked some small trails in the area. The morning we left, we saw lots of deer & bear tracks on the other side of the reservoir. **Another reminder that we're in bear country!** Our raft had a hole that was not repairable so we weren't able to go on the water but there were other people with rafts, paddle boards and canoes. Reservoir wasn't as clean as expected but we all had a great time! We look forward to coming back! Clean campsites, camp host was great & most campers were friendly. Most campers had dogs (not all were leashed). Bathroom facilities were relatively clean for a remote area.
Amazing Star Gazing. Good, simple and clean
Peaceful and beautiful!! Would go back.
Nice USFS campground. For a campground listed as light usage it was quite busy in mid September. 80% full on the night we stayed. Pleasant camp host here. Water and vault toilets available and trash dumpsters. Best campfire rings I seen in a a USFS campground in a very long time! They were of the older lower and wider variety.
