Well maintained park on the shores of Lake Charlevoix. Nice beach and water with a hiking trail across the street. Bathhouse is old but clean. Sites are irregularly shaped and many are unlevel and close to neighbors. It is okay if neighbors are respectful. But 3 out of 5 nights we had parties of 12-15 people on a single site. Our site had a great view of the water, but it bordered 4 other sites. We left a day early since the small site behind us had 3 tents, 3 cars, a pack n play, approx 5 kids and 5 adults plus evening visitors who talked at the campfire until 5:30 am. Not sure if I would return, but I loved it the days we were surrounded by great neighbors.

Great place on an even more beautiful location. There is only a handful of electric spots and they are away from the water. The close to water spaces are rustic and have some odd shape spaces or uneven. Easy for tents and small campers. Anything over 20ft can be challenging for some of the better spots. That being said. They pick up trash everyday curbside, clean the bathrooms daily and have movable fire rings to make it easier to pull in or have a better location to have a fire. Watch out for the corners. Almost every corner has a trash can or a pole near the corners which make maneuvering around more tricky.

Always a good place to be with the family! Furry companions as well. Recent upgrades too. I love the new fire pits! Lot 17 is my personal favorite.

We came in last minute, called the office and we’re able to snag a water front rustic site for only $15 (there is a $7 reserve charge per booking regardless if you book online or over the phone). We liked it so much we decided to extend our stay and luckily they had a cancellation so we only had to move 5 sites down. It seems some off reviews may have resembled a different ownership. The showers are currently free and posted as “until further notice” and bathrooms are 8/10 and checked multiple times a day. The park staff empties trash in the mornings. Ice is $2 a bag. We’ve had zero complaints and are enjoying our stay!

Campground is very nice and well kept. Smaller number of campsites than state park is nice. Not crammed together. Direct beach access.
