Cheaha Hideaway LLC

We had an amazing stay at Cheaha Hideaway. Our hosts were extremely accommodating and kind. The property is beautiful and boasts gorgeous mountain views. The yurt provided a comfortable nights sleep, with our heater providing a warm place to rest. We enjoyed lounging on our deck equipped with a propane fire pit and whimsical string lights. The rustic bath house was a short, well lit walk away and provided a clean restroom and shower. It rained during our stay and the yurt remaining dry and secure, so don’t let the weather stray you away from enjoying this beauty. We will definitely be coming back for another visit!

We had an amazing gateway! The place is fantastic: quiet, nice atmosphere, a very big area to run and play. There a lot of trails nearby. The tent was super cozy and well equipped. Wonderful lights on the porch, nice place to make s’mores and simply enjoy a family time. We will definitely come back.

This place is phenomenal!! I stayed here at the hideaway with some friends for a college weekend getaway and it was a blast! The hideaway is so cozy and warm and had everything my friends and I could want and need! The hosts are super sweet people and helpful too. I will be back in the future for sure!

Wow! This isn’t far from where we live, but once we got there, it felt like we were a million miles away. My husband surprised me with a Friday night getaway, and it was exactly what we needed. It was so peaceful. I felt like we were in Tennessee somewhere. We arrived to our private deck, the air conditioner already on and the tent cool, sparkling grape juice on the bed and a sweet note. My husband purchased the snack bin, towel add on, and the fire pit and it was PERFECT. The easiest trip you’ll ever pack for. We grilled hamburgers on the grill, and made homemade ice cream on the porch. I found I may not be much of a camper, but I am for sure a GLAMPER! The utensils for the grill that we needed were there, he requested plates and they were waiting on us. Plus the refrigerator in our tent made keeping everything we needed cold cold. All the string lights just made it magical when the sun went down. We only went for one night, but now I wish it was for a week. Whether you’re local or not, you won’t regret staying. The owners were so kind and truly made the experience a delight.

AMAZING!! This place is tucked up into the foothills of Mt. Cheaha. It is set up beautifully. Quiet and peaceful place. Plenty of privacy from other glampers. Bathhouse is very nice and clean. Pathways are gravel and clean. This place is pristine! You will not be sorry you stayed here. The Smiths are great hosts and easy to work with. Tents were extremely clean and cool with a/c. We hiked to the top of the mountain...great views! Book a stay at this place today!

Cheaha Hideaway is amazing!!!! My wife and I stayed one night for her birthday and we had the best time ever!! Very clean, and well taken care of!! The owners are super nice and will make sure that your stay is top notch!! Thanks guys, we really enjoyed it!!

What an absolute hidden gem we found at Cheaha Hideaway - A Peaceful, Memorable Weekend Getaway! We recently stayed at Cheaha Hideaway in the Round About Cheaha tent for a girls' weekend to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish! The setting was peaceful, private, and exactly what we needed to unplug, relax, and recharge. The tent itself was clean and extremely well-appointed, complete with quality linens, plenty of pillows, and a phenomenal air conditioner (an absolute must in the Alabama summer). Both the tent and the bath facilities were thoughtfully stocked with everything we could have needed for a cozy stay in the woods - including towels, shampoo & conditioner, and a coffee maker! It's conveniently located about 10 miles from Cheaha State Park - a great spot for hiking and experiencing nature, including the highest point of elevation in Alabama! We enjoyed our outing there during the day but honestly couldn't wait to get back to the peaceful solitude of Cheaha Hideaway! What truly made the experience exceptional, though, were the amazing hosts. The husband and wife team who run Cheaha Hideaway are incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. They greeted us warmly when we arrived and made sure we were comfortable and settled in. Some storms did roll through while we were staying there - which we actually really enjoyed. (I was also very impressed that we weren't impacted in any way by the wind or the rain while inside our tent - a testament to the stability of the structures!) The power did go out briefly, but the hosts were quick to ensure we were taken care of. They went above and beyond to check on us, keeping open lines of communication, and ensuring we had what we needed, including a generator to provide temporary power when the storms took out the county's power lines. Their hospitality really made us feel safe, cared for, and valued - and it really stood out to us just how much they cared about our experience. We left feeling refreshed and grateful for the experience. Whether you're looking for a peaceful escape, a unique celebration spot, or just time to disconnect and enjoy nature, Cheaha Hideaway is an absolute gem. We’re already talking about coming back!

Beautiful place. Parking is right in front of your tent. Three tents on site, just the right spacing to give room for privacy without too long of a walk to bathhouse. Tents are fresh and clean, owners are very helpful and nice. Would be great to rent for a family reunion.
