"One of our favorite state parks! It was so beautiful, and it certainly didn’t feel like the highway was as close as it was. Cherry Creek State Park is a nice place to get away without going too far from home. The bike paths, horseback riding, camping grounds, beach, rowing, boats, and all other elements make it enjoyable. It can get crowded in certain areas at some times of the year but it always has a place enjoyable to everyone.

I love coming here, I always bring my dog and usually walk him along the Dam Road Trail. We usually go earlier in the day on Saturday or Sunday and its easy to get in and we dont encounter a lot of people while walking. Our cat likes to be outside so we will occasionally bring him as well to get a little sand in his paws!

8/25 Update. Went again this weekend and the new pavilion by the swim beach was open and functional. This place has so much to offer. Lots of trails. Lots to do on the water. The picnic areas are all super convenient. Bring some chairs and park yourself on the beach for a few hours. You won’t regret it.
