Chestnut Lake Campground

My fiance and I have been coming back for about four or five years now for their tent camping. We both love the campground! There are a ton of amenities like a playground for kids, a beach for swimming, spots to fish around the lake, boat rentals, a rec room, newly renovated bathrooms, the list goes on!! Wawa, Weis and the local town are only a few minutes away for convenience. The staff & others staying there are very friendly too. The only thing is that they used to let us camp around the lake, but the past few Memorial Day weekends they only let us tent kind of near the bathrooms on the edge of their field. I understand a few bad apples can ruin it for everyone, but it just sucks for those who have been coming for years - specifically for their remote feeling tent sites that aren't right next to someone else. I hope it will go back to the old way someday. We will very like be back in a few months for their rustic camping if it is available. Edit: We tried to come back for the rustic camping, but unfortunately we were told they don't have it. Between having the camp sites at the open field where there is no privacy, and no more rustic camping, I think it might unfortunately be time for us to find a different campsite. It was a great couple of years though, we had great memories there. If they ever go back to the way it used to be, we'll surely be back.

This was our very first trip with a camper. I have a 39' camper and backed into sight with more than enough room. Everyone at check in were very helpful and friendly

So many good things to say about this camp ground! Its a lovely place nothing over the top but a comfortable atmosphere! The lake is wonderfully very clean to cold when we were there for swimming but the grandkids enjoyed the fishing! They have tent sites all around the lake! A nice playground with plenty of open space for kids to burn off some energy! Love the street lamps adds such a nice touch. Management and staff super freindly and helpful!!

We stayed here for a night while traveling. Wonderful welcoming staff in the front office. Kind, friendly and welcoming other campers who are part of the permanent camping group. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the playground and splashing in the water. Definitely would recommend a stay if you are passing through and in the area.

My Husband and I are new to camping this year and found CHESTNUT LAKE CAMPGROUND and we love it. It is in the woods but still close to shopping and other needs. The People we have met are amazing and helpful. The campground has a lake with a beach area, you can fish in the lake, boats to rent, a path around the lake which you can walk, game room, playground, volleyball and basketball in large grass area which would be great for picnics and other activities, onsite laundry and camp store. The bath house/Restrooms are maintained and very clean. Dogs are always welcome. Linda the owner is always very helpful. Be sure to check out this hidden gem when camping near the Pocono area.
