Had a great weekend camping here last weekend! Lots of little bugs so make sure you have off if it’s not windy! Cabanas and cabins were also great! Weather was perfect and the fishing was great! Beauty spot! Love that most sites have partial hookups and lots of fun things to do for the whole family!
Lovely campsite, washrooms and showers some of the cleanest I’ve experienced while camping. staff at the front office were so friendly and accommodating, would definitely consider returning. we stayed in Creekside spot number 5, lovely little path straight off the site down to the creek which was a nice addition!
This place has really gone down hill They use to do a really good job to assist the fisherpersons but now I get the feeling they dint want us here. Everything is being fenced off and still the store/restaurant isn't open. I feel the harbour commission needs to get their act together and realize where their revenue is comming from. Especially when they raise the seasonal rates 15% a year for the next 5 years .... PATHERIC! There ate a lot of pensioners trying to enjoy their retirement years and we dont get 15% increases annually
Great family camp site. If you have a a boat or water sport equipment this place will be a blast. Bring your kids bikes as there is a fun little bike track for the kids. Lots of fun to be had. Great bathrooms. Not a great place for easy access ocean swimming, but great for other water sport such as paddle boards and kayaking.
This large campground is managed and operated by the Port Alberni Port Authority. They offer short-term camping sites, as well as long term (full season) hook-up sites for RVs. I only spent one night at this campground, as we were just driving through and we were lucky enough to get a great waterfront camping site for the night. The view is incredible and the beach was just a few feet away. Most of the short term camping sites are fairly spacious and spaced well apart. You have a choice from being near the beach or near the creek. Both areas are lovely. The campground offers a bike park, a large playground and lots of beach access. The long-term RV/hookup sites look very crammed together, but the campground is almost totally full, so it appears that no one minds! There are tons of families and the campground is very kind-friendly. It looks like a great place to bring your bikes. While we didn't really explore the creek, it looked lovely and we would have loved to paddle on it in our kayaks. The water temperature was great and my son and I both enjoyed swimming. The beach is sunny most of the day and late into the evening. We enjoyed sitting in the sun and watching the wind surfers and fishing boats on the water. The campground is slightly windy, but it's definitely tolerable. I would have been happy to spend many days here. The restrooms are clean and have flush toilets and offer free, hot showers. My only complaint about the restrooms is that there are few of them and they're spaced significantly further apart than at your typical campground.
