Fresh spring water onsite. There's good spacing between campsites, but all are very open to the campground road and do not feel as private as what's offered at some of the other campgrounds on this national forest.
Nice quiet campground with zero Verizon coverage 😁 Artesian well! Nice river path. Clean pit toilet. New gravel. Nice, flat sites. Beautiful forest. Easy registration process, only $15/night. Fire pit with flip over grill. Picnic table. Wildlife. I would recommend, and certainly stay again.
If you are looking for the next posh glamping site, this is not it. Primitive camping would be best, except the sites offered are mostly compacted dirt making you wish you had brought a hammock. The constant well is wonderful! And the access to the river is paramount. We were able to sit in the river on a rock and fish while our pups enjoyed shore and the shallows. Stagnant water behind our campsite meant we had mosquitos, but no worse than any other location in the woods. The sheriff did a drive thru as did WI DNR.
I've not camped here but this is a great spot. Very few sites. Right on the river. The best EVER little glacial spring water. Bring bottles!
Have been here throughout 35 years. Coming back this seadon for a week. Access to everything, great water, the giant campers go to lost lake. Great trout, bird, duck...relax...fish fry...Eagles
