Recently, my husband was working in the area and needed a camp site. I was fortunate to find Chips Campground. They were easy to deal with and continued throughout our stay to be professional, friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend Chips. The site is clean, quiet and easy to access. If we are ever in the area again, we know where we will stay.
My husband stays at this campground every year when he works there locally. I usually go on the weekends and stay with him and we both actually love this campground. It is private and clean as well as quiet. When we have had any issues, we simply call and she takes care of it quickly and professionally. It is located conveniently near stores, shopping and food. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, especially workers who are staying for extended stays to complete local jobs like my husband.
The management is very poor. The electrical boxes are out of date and has been OUTLAWED but the owner continues to use them, regardless of safety issues for the guests. The breakers trip every few minutes if you're not very careful about what all is being used at once. Management is really hard to deal with and very rude. We stayed for a couple months and had nothing but issues the whole time. We signed a 90 day contract, and on the 64th day she asked us to leave with NO EXPLANATION we was NEVER late on a payment and NEVER caused any issues.
This campground is well managed, quiet, clean, and the perfect location from International Paper. Of course if you aren’t here on business then it is a quick 15 minute ride from downtown historic Newbern NC. Easy to pay over the phone. Easy check in.
Had a great experience until out the blue was told its only a 90 day stay limit. Was told we exceeded 90 days and then she says we got here Nov. 4th. I said that is not 90 Days. Then just proceeded to say you got to go. We have never missed our payment. Payed on time. And we are the only people in the park. And still we are told you got to go. Very rude and won't give any explanation as to why when asked. Especially with her reasoning of 90 days when it hasn't been but 65 or 66 days. And I kindly asked for a little more time. At least the supposed 90 day limit. No!! And electric boxes she has have been outlawed over 20 years ago for being a fire hazard. And she didn't want to hear it. Threatened to kick us out when told about it.
