This campground exceeded my expectations! The views here are stunning. Weather got quite a bit windy, so please be sure to secure your tent down. The ground here is pretty much rock and found it hard to stake the tent into the ground, so we had to use small boulders! So just keep that in mind. This campground site has the lodge, restaurant, visitor center and small store for any goods and food. They will be closing part lodge and restaurant due to some renovations, so you may want to check before you book. Other than that, I highly recommend this campground!

National Park campground in the Chisos mountains of Big Bend. Best for tent camping but smaller RVs may fit. Read campsite description on recreation.gov carefully as well as rules. Not a good park for dogs.

This is the best campground in Big Bend NP, right at the heart of the park. Although it's a little primitive--no electricity and no cell signal, the view is wonderful, Casa Grande and other peaks are just in your eyes. The site is a little small but could hold two tents for sure. Parking is also a little tight for two big vehicles. The restroom is clean and convenient, drinking water is accessible in the campground. So it's a really nice campground and we had a good time here. Highly recommended.

We didn't stay at the campground, just used it as the starting point for the Window Trail. It was a beautiful hike, but remember, you walk downhill to start and the return hike is all up! Take some time to break before you head back to save your legs!!!

Big Bend is a magical place. The Basin is beautiful, quiet, and the night sky is magnificent. Friendly staff made our stay great. If there were showers available, I would certainly rate it 5 stars.
