Decent campground. Watch out for the rats. With my hood open and a light inside I still found footprints. Nice hiking trail with views of bay. Beach is rocky. Showers were cold.
Have come here two years in a row. My one and only complaint is the showers are FREEZING. But otherwise it's great! Friendly camp hosts, private spots, never crowded. Hear coyotes pretty often but they're harmless. Stars are beautiful, you're right on the lake. Dog friendly. Bathrooms are clean. Cell phone service for both Verizon and T-Mobile.
We stayed in January, and a more uncrowded campground would be hard to find. There are four loops to choose from but they’re all about the same with sites that are average size but widely spaced for the most part. Some of the restroom buildings are closed for repairs but there are many of them so a flush toilet is never too far away. Showers are solar heated though and in The winter they are cold. I’m told they are hot in the summer maybe. There are some sites with great views along the water. Also some great tents-only sites. You bicycle along AZ 188 safely as there is little traffic. Nearby hiking is sparse — some trails inside the campground and the FS roads across the highway are your choices unless you drive to a trailhead.
Charming Fed Campground. Price fair, hosts super helpful and kind. Shower house was clean, but water just warm....but refreshing. Great verizon. We'll be back!
Very nice, clean campground. We were in spot 93 and it was great, very spacious, no one behind us. Wildflowers everywhere! Very beautiful. There were a few places to fish from shore but very steep and rugged terrain with the water level so high. Hubs caught a nice bass so he was happy!
