Customer Reviews
A quiet campsite! During my time, there was only 1 other person visiting the camp. Overall it was not excessively dirty, and there were no “homelessness” issues as described in previous reviews. The road has traffic every 15-20 minutes. A campfire pit, picnic table, and charcoal grilling area are at every site, as well as a pavilion in the center with two covered picnic tables. I would definitely visit again when I am in the area! (Lost 1 star as someone was in my reserved site, but I happily moved to the next site until they left the next morning.)
3 campsites. Would normally be perfect for tent or RV with 10x10 cement pads and a covering... but there was someone else at one of the sites with NINE chihuahuas in an outdoor cage. Looked like they've been there for months. Their dogs chased me out next day as well as the previous camper who was scheduled for 5 days. Hope this might help someone. As long as that person is gone you're good. 4/5 instead of 5/5 stars as my experience was absolutely ruined with 9 ankle biters barking all night. Video is from 2am.
Free camping as of this post. There's a porta potty, and covered picnic tables, a fire ring. I recommend bug spray. The water is clear but dark with tannins.
There is plenty of garbage/ fishing line. Not a place I could recommend. Free yes. Nasty yes
Very disappointed! I registered in advance and reserved site 1. I got there early and when I pulled up there was a worn out tent with a tarp laying over it and junk laying around the site. (Cleary a homless set up) A guy came walking up and said are you camping here tonight? I said yeah I have site 1 reserved. He said that he was in the wrong site and had reserved site 2 but the game warden told him he could stay in site 1 unless someone ask him to move.He said you can take site 2 unless you want me to move. I said no I'll take site 2. As I was setting up the guy proceeds to tell me there was a bunch of needles in a junk pile on his site and that he threw most of them away! I was there with my two boys and was very alarmed! Why had this been allowed? The guy also ask me if I liked cats. He said he had a cat there but it would only come to his girlfriend. Long story short we ended up staying and there were 3 cats that wouldn't leave us alone! They bombarded our table and any food we had and scurried around our tent all night! This would be a cool little camp ground if it were Policed more and the campers held accountable.
