Cieneguita Campground Introduce

Cieneguita Campground offers a one-of-a-kind camping experience nestled in the remote landscapes of Sonoita, Arizona. Perfect for adventure seekers and nature lovers, this campground provides a pristine setting for those looking to connect with the great outdoors. Nestled in the Sonoran Desert, Cieneguita Campground is known for its beautiful boondocking sites, allowing campers to enjoy the freedom of primitive camping under a vast starry sky. The availability of water at Empire Ranch nearby adds convenience while maintaining the charm of off-grid living.

While the lack of a dump station means visitors should come prepared with self-contained facilities, the trade-off is an untouched natural environment. The campground's remote location offers a peaceful retreat from urban life, with opportunities for stargazing and experiencing the serene beauty of the desert landscape.

  • Beautiful Boondocking Sites: Ideal for RVers and tent campers alike, offering a true off-grid experience.
  • Natural Setting: Surrounded by desert landscapes, perfect for stargazing and connecting with nature.

Cieneguita Campground has received mixed reviews, with visitors appreciating the remote beauty but noting challenges such as limited shade due to tree removal. Guests have suggested that while the land is vast, additional sites could enhance the camping experience. Despite these considerations, many find the location a rewarding destination when they "hit it right" with the right neighbors.

Whether you're seeking adventure or simply looking to unplug and recharge, Cieneguita Campground provides a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in nature's embrace.

Beautiful boondocking sites. Water available at Empire Ranch. No dump station nearby. Pack in pack it out!

Ruined when the managers decided to chain strip the campground of beautiful shades trees. I get it's a ranch and they likely want browse for cattle but leaving the trees in a campground IN THE HOT WINDY DESERT--no brainer. Also nearly never patrolled and so many people either overstay the 2 week limit or tag team, communicating with friends who come and take the spot immediately as others leave. There's a lot of land out there and it's time to add a dozen more sites spread out so it maintains a camping/nature vibe and not an RV park ambiance. Lots of cow dung. If you hit it right with the right neighbors you can enjoy peace and stars galore.

It was crowded with wealthy campers in expensive RVs. It was a bad vibe But, it's a pretty location. Make sure to load up on supplies as it's not convenient to services. The unpaved road is not bad.

No amenities. 8 or 9 spots on the empire ranch studded mosquite trees and shallow arroyos overlooking grassy plains. Great spot to chill and enjoy the scenery. Dogs on leash. Paved till the last Mile or so. 5th wheels Will fit.

Very beautiful scenery. Lots of open space and room to roam. There are lots of sites and places to walk. The sun rises and sunsets are amazing! A great spot to camp near the Tucson area.
