Great campground. We really enjoyed our stay here. A previous post said there were 2 homeless encampments permanently living here. Not true. There were none here as of this post. There is a 14 day stay limit enforced by the on-site camphost. All campsites are paved & include a picnic table & fire ring. The bathhouse has flush toilets & sinks (no showers.) Potable drinking water at faucets in various spots in the campground. Dump station was not operable. Gorgeous scenery. Quiet & peaceful. FC/FS- no reservations but it's hardly ever full. Trash dumpster, recycling and they even provide doggy bags. Highly recommend!
Absolutely one of the best experiences of my life. Very neat camping area, beautiful walk along Cimarron River. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Campground hosts were very friendly, helpful, and informative.
Great place to go rockhounding! Campground was great! Super clean bathroom facilities. Don’t miss the rock collection at Newberry’s store.
July 14, 2024. Wanted to stay here. Looked very cool. But there are two groups permanently living in the campground. They were very shady and made my wife very uncomfortable. Didn't feel safe tent camping here. The park service should allow people to live at the campgrounds. Wish I could have stayed looked very cool. Hopefully, they evict the residents.
Small campground, hardly ever filled up when staying there late July early August, nice campground host, river access and trail just behind the campground.
