  • Firewood Sales: Onsite firewood is available for sale, making it easy to have a campfire without needing to transport wood from outside the area (it's often advised to "please do not transport firewood from outside Madison County," though for Sac City, it would apply to the local county or region to prevent pest spread).

This would be five stars if not for all the flies. Bathrooms are older but clean. Quiet, shaded campground on the river. $20 per night in June 2025.

Very nicely kept camp grounds. They have all you need and the custodian is friendly and easily accessible. There is a great little roaring stream that's a pleasure to visit on the south side of the camp, just past the park.

Positive: The campground itself is really cheap and pretty. For only 17 $ you get a nice spot at the river with electricity and water (didn't use the water). The night was absolutely quiet. Since checkout is at 1pm, there is no rush when leaving. Negative: The washrooms aren't nice at all. The lights were off so you couldn't really use them at night. The showers were unusable, the water coming out was brown like rust. It's fine if things are basic for that price, but they should be clean and working. In the morning, random people showed up with their cars, driving circles in the park and leaving again. That caused a lot of dust from the road on our breakfast. Happend 3 times. Please note that you can't make a reservation. You can only pay cash or with cheque.

Reasonably quite, clean and very shady spot to throw a tent up. Clean bathhouse and showers. Stayed here 3 times so far while on cross country motorcycle trips and will again in the future

Jackie campground manager was quite helpful when our slide-out would not go in. Her friend Billy found the problem. A loose screw on slide out motor. Tightened screw. Problem fixed. No RV repair in town. Campground nice city park with level shaded well spaced sites. 50 Amp electric and water $17. Sweet! Will find a way back.
