Clarion River Campground Introduce
Nestled in the picturesque town of Sigel, Pennsylvania, Clarion River Campground is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. This campground offers a unique blend of tranquility and adventure, making it an ideal destination for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether you're a seasoned camper or a first-timer, Clarion River Campground provides an unforgettable experience.
The campground is known for its dispersed camping sites, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the surrounding forest. While the area is remote and may feel like you're off the beaten path, the serene environment and stunning views make it all worthwhile. The Clarion River, just a short walk from the campsites, offers a perfect spot for fishing, kayaking, or simply enjoying the peaceful sounds of flowing water.
Clarion River Campground features vault toilets for convenience, but it's important to note that cell coverage is limited in the valley. This makes it an excellent spot for those looking to disconnect and enjoy the great outdoors. However, T-Mobile users may find just enough service to stay connected if needed.
Here are some key features and services offered at Clarion River Campground:
- Dispersed camping sites for a true outdoor experience
- Proximity to the Clarion River for water activities
- Vault toilets available on-site
- Limited cell coverage, perfect for a digital detox
- First-come, first-served campsites
Customer feedback highlights the beauty and tranquility of Clarion River Campground. Visitors appreciate the secluded nature of the campsites and the easy access to the Clarion River. While some note the challenge of finding firewood due to an outside wood ban, the overall experience is highly praised. Many campers recommend arriving early to secure a spot, as the first-come, first-served policy can make it competitive during peak seasons.
Plan your next outdoor adventure at Clarion River Campground and experience the natural beauty and peacefulness that this hidden gem has to offer. Whether you're camping, fishing, or simply enjoying the scenery, Clarion River Campground is the perfect destination for your next getaway.

Customer Reviews
Definitely out of the way and you will think you're lost but once you're here it doesn't get much better for dispersed camping. I barely have LTE T-Mobile service at my site but its enough to post this review so good enough. Not much for down trees and such so firewood is a bit tricky to come by and there is an outside wood ban in effect which means if you're bringing your own wood into the forest you're putting the forest at risk of infestation.
Nice camp sites for car camping. But since they are first come, there's a good chance you're not going to get a sight to camp at. There are vault toilets. The clarion River is beautiful and very short walk from the sites. There is very poor cell coverage in the valley
It is a true blessing to have free campsites, central/eastern Pennsylvania doesn’t offer much free camping compared to other states. These dispersed campsites along river road are hidden and it’s hard to tell where you’re even allowed to be camping at. Your best bet is to find a spot that already has a fire pit. This place is packed all summer and usually in the off season too. It’s really hard to find a spot to camp at, especially one that’s close to the bathrooms a result of there not being any free camping anywhere close by
Very peaceful. Will definitely come again. Being first come first serve you take the chance of not getting a spot. We were lucky to find one spot open.
Free camping along the Clarion river with pit potties close by. Went in late October and the colorful fall leaves and winding river views. I think we were the only campers at the group of 4 sites in this river spot. Enough room to pull our camper van in and even some fire rings to enjoy some hot dogs and s'mores. Not many FREE camping experiences like this travelling through Pennsylvania.
