This is always been a cool area, it's a" borrow"area to remove dirt for the building of what was at the time the largest earth filled Dam at Oroville California. They actually built a small train line to transport the required clay for the dam the 10 miles or so up to the construction site. I remember coming by here as a child and there used to be a huge separating machine with conveyor belts loading the trains. Now it's just a big huge hole that they designated as a vehicular recreational area with a shooting area at the far end away from the rest of traffic. At times of high rain it becomes a lake and that's what the video shows the beginning of it starting to fill. Maybe I'll come back with some pictures in a few days as they have predictions of up to 6 in of rain for this week.

Very small riding area. Not monitored by rangers. Great for beginners. Not too many hills. Mainly all flat land. If you're looking for an adventure, I'd recommend elsewhere but overall, great place to take your kids riding in their learning stages.

Not much to do there. Dry hard dirt with lots of rocks to tear your tires up. Great for beginners or less. 10 mins and you have rode the Clay Pit.

Very cool place . Just purchased our first jeep. Took it out to play in the mud and climb a few hills. We had fun.
