This campground is amazing. It's super clean, quiet and everyone was friendly. We only stayed here for 2 nights and we already want to go back. The sites are large and grassy with large shade trees on some and the campground is right next to a shallow to medium stream where the kids played for hours and we sat and soaked up the sun in the water. We will definitely be adding this place to our list for quick weekend getaways as it's so close to home. Big thank you to the caretakers and staff at this campground, they run and maintain an amazing facility.
Access to the park is easy. It is pavement all the way. Signage is adequate. The Parameter roads are gravel and big rig friendly. This park is right in the city so groceries etc are five minutes away by automobile. Check in was quick and easy and the clerk was very pleasant.. Our site, 10, was a pull through that was more than long enough for our rig and towed. It was a level, graveled site with a table but NO fire pit. The table sat on a concrete pad but not big enough to be considered a patio. Services were to the left rear and many sites had dual sewer connections. One further forward so one wouldn't have to add or stretch hoses. Be sure you have a water pressure regulator. The system is listed as having 100psi. It could cause some damage to your plumbing if you don't. It is clearly posted and you are informed at check in. Internet was included in the cost of the site. It worked well enough for e mail and light browsing. We found only one OTA TV. Satellite could be difficult because of the trees. Distance between sites is good for an urban park but there is no foliage for a break The park features grass between sites, large trees and planters with beautiful flowers scattered about. This park was clean and well groomed. We did not use the free showers or flush toilets but they were very clean. The office offers a good book and CD exchange. We paid $39.00 per night with no discounts and we feel that we received good value. We would return if in the area.
This campsite looked great on arrival. Landscaped lawns and well kept flower beds. My husband checked in and was told we could set up in the overflow area. After he paid he found out this overflow area was across the street and there were no bathrooms there (not ideal with a 3 year old). We said we would check it out anyway but found it was essentially part of a public park. It did not feel very secure, especially with a small child. We went back 5 minutes later to ask for a refund but were denied. Instead we were offered a very small site as we had to squeeze our car and tent on to the gravel patch (no camping on the grass for whatever reason). Bathrooms were very clean but I would not recommend the overflow area, and in general we found the place not very accommodating.
An excellent spot for an overnight or longer stay in Merritt. We stayed in August 2016 for 1 night on our way back to Vancouver and would have happily stayed longer. Facilities were the best we found in cleanliness and welcoming. Recreation room had good kitchen and little oven toaster and kettle. Tv to play free DVDs for the kids. Bathroom there as well as good separate washroom and shower facilities near main office. Highly recommend it
Very friendly hosts and the bathrooms are very clean and nice decorations added. Also no extra cost..Wifi is very weak. Be aware of the very high water pressure and use your reducing valve..Great free sani dump across the road compliments of the City of Merritt
