CLC Camp Out, located in Central Texas, aims to provide a straightforward camping experience for individuals and groups. It’s a place where the focus is on the campfire, outdoor cooking, and the tranquility of being under the Texas sky, rather than on elaborate modern conveniences. This article will delve into the specifics of CLC Camp Out, offering a clear and factual overview from the perspective of a local Texan user. We'll cover its location and accessibility, the services and basic amenities provided, unique features and highlights noted by visitors, and essential contact information. While recent reviews highlight some areas for improvement in shared facilities, the core camping experience itself is described as pleasant, suggesting it may be suitable for self-sufficient campers who prioritize the outdoor setting.
CLC Camp Out is located in Morgan, TX 76671, USA. Morgan is a small town situated in Bosque County, Central Texas. This location places the campground within a reasonable driving distance for many residents across major Texan metropolitan areas, including Dallas-Fort Worth, Waco, and even Austin, making it an accessible option for weekend getaways or longer outdoor excursions.
The accessibility of a campground in a smaller town like Morgan often means less traffic and a more direct route to your destination, contributing to a more relaxed start to your camping trip. While specific details on the surrounding roads leading to the campground are not provided, most camping facilities in Texas are reachable by standard vehicles and RVs, though it's always wise to check for any unpaved sections if you have a large rig.
Morgan and its surrounding communities typically offer basic amenities such as gas stations and small convenience stores for any last-minute supplies. Larger towns within a short drive would provide more extensive services like grocery stores and hardware shops. The appeal of a location like Morgan for a campground lies in its ability to offer a tranquil, rural setting away from the hustle and bustle, while still being within convenient reach for Texan campers. This allows for a true sense of escape into the natural landscape of Central Texas.
Based on direct customer reviews, CLC Camp Out provides basic camping amenities designed to support a traditional outdoor experience. It's important for prospective campers to manage expectations regarding the level of luxury or modern convenience.
- Campsites with Basic Features: The camping experience itself is described as "pretty okay," indicating designated areas for setting up camp. Each site appears to include a grill and clean tables and benches, which are essential for outdoor cooking and dining.
- Campfire Facilities: Campers will find a designated "nice thing for a campfire" (likely a fire pit or ring) available at the sites, although it might require some cleaning upon arrival. This is a core element for the traditional camping experience.
- Shower House (with notable issues): A shower house is present, offering separate men's and women's sections. The men's bathroom described contained two shower rooms, a sink, a urinal, and two stalls. However, it's critical to note the review highlighted significant cleanliness and maintenance issues, including strong odors, insects (beetles, spiders, dead ants), urine on floors, soiled toilet paper, lack of locks on stall doors, a low-pressure shower head, and human fecal matter near the drain. This suggests these facilities may be in poor condition and campers should be prepared for this.
- No On-site Management (Implied): The review mentioning "no management on site" suggests that day-to-day operations and immediate issue resolution might be self-service or handled remotely. This implies a need for campers to be self-reliant.
- Waste Management: While not explicitly stated, basic waste disposal options (like bins) are typically available at campgrounds, though campers should always practice Leave No Trace principles and pack out anything they pack in.
Given the detailed review regarding the shower house, campers who prioritize clean, well-maintained restroom and showering facilities might need to plan alternatives or adjust their expectations significantly. The primary value seems to be in the actual camping spots and natural setting.
Despite the significant concerns raised about the shower house, the core camping experience at CLC Camp Out does offer some basic features and highlights for those seeking a straightforward outdoor adventure.
- Basic Camping Amenities: Each campsite comes equipped with practical features such as a grill, clean tables, and benches, providing a good foundation for outdoor cooking and dining directly at your site.
- Campfire Opportunities: The presence of a dedicated campfire area allows campers to enjoy classic evening campfires, perfect for s'mores, warmth, and storytelling under the Texas sky.
- Spaciousness (Implied): While not explicitly stated, the general nature of such campgrounds often means sites are spread out, offering more space than commercial RV parks, contributing to a sense of privacy.
- Tranquil Outdoor Setting: Located in rural Morgan, TX, the campground likely offers a peaceful and natural environment, ideal for those looking to escape city noise and reconnect with nature.
- Affordability (Likely): Campgrounds with fewer amenities often come at a more accessible price point, making them a budget-friendly option for outdoor enthusiasts.
- Self-Reliant Camping: For experienced campers who prefer to be self-sufficient and enjoy a more rustic experience, the campground provides the basic framework for an independent outdoor stay.
- Access to Local Area: While not detailed, the location in Morgan, TX, implies potential access to nearby natural features or small-town attractions typical of Central Texas, such as local lakes, fishing spots, or quiet roads for scenic drives.
It is crucial for potential visitors to weigh these positive aspects of the camping sites themselves against the severe negative feedback concerning the shared restroom and shower facilities. The "camping experience itself is pretty okay" suggests the individual sites provide what's needed for tent or RV setup, outdoor cooking, and relaxation.
Given the provided information, only a physical address for CLC Camp Out is available. There is no direct phone number or website explicitly associated with "CLC Camp Out" as a commercial campground in the public data.

Due to the lack of direct contact information and the nature of the review (suggesting limited on-site management), prospective campers may need to rely on alternative methods for inquiry or information:
- Online Searches: A broader online search for "camping Morgan TX" or "campgrounds Bosque County" might reveal a managing entity or a booking platform if CLC Camp Out is part of a larger organization or listed on third-party sites.
- Local Inquiries: If possible, contacting the Morgan, TX, Chamber of Commerce or local tourism office might provide additional details or direct contact numbers if they exist.
- On-Site Visit (if practical): For those in the immediate area, a quick drive-by might offer more clarity on signage, registration procedures, or any posted contact information.
It is highly recommended that campers looking to use this site be prepared for a self-service experience and ensure they have all necessary supplies, especially if relying on the shower house is not an option.
CLC Camp Out, located in Morgan, TX, offers a specific type of camping experience that, despite its documented shortcomings in shared facilities, could be suitable for certain local Texans. For those who prioritize a rustic, budget-conscious outdoor escape and are largely self-sufficient, this campground provides the basic framework for a traditional camping trip without the frills of a full-service park.
The core appeal for local residents lies in the direct camping experience itself. The provision of grills, clean tables, benches, and dedicated campfire areas at each site means that the fundamental elements of outdoor living are readily available. This allows Texans to enjoy classic camping activities like cooking over an open flame, sharing meals outdoors, and gathering around a roaring campfire under the vast Texas sky. For many, these simple pleasures are the essence of a camping trip, and CLC Camp Out appears to deliver on these fronts.
Its location in Morgan, TX, offers an accessible retreat from the more densely populated areas of Central Texas. This provides a convenient option for weekend getaways, allowing locals to quickly escape to a rural setting and enjoy the tranquility that comes with being surrounded by nature. The potentially quiet atmosphere, away from the typical noise of city life, can be a significant draw for those seeking a peaceful respite.
However, it is imperative for locals considering CLC Camp Out to be fully aware of and prepared for the severe issues noted regarding the shower house. Campers should plan to bring their own sanitation solutions, such as portable showers or extra water for personal hygiene, or be comfortable with very rustic facilities. This campground is best suited for experienced campers, those with self-contained RVs, or individuals and groups who are accustomed to primitive camping conditions and value the overall outdoor setting over immaculate shared amenities.
Ultimately, CLC Camp Out offers a no-frills, back-to-basics camping opportunity in Central Texas. For the local Texan who embraces self-reliance, prioritizes a direct connection with the outdoors, and can manage around less-than-ideal shared facilities, it provides a functional and potentially enjoyable base for their next campfire adventure.

Camping experience itself is pretty okay, there was a grill, a nice thing for a campfire (needed some cleaning) and clean tables and benches. There was one thing however I was so horrified of. The shower house. Upon walking into the showerhouse, (i should add I was in the men’s bathroom), you are met by 2 divided sections, on the left are 2 shower rooms and on the right is a sink, a urinal, and 2 stalls Words can NOT explain the terrible smell that came from inside. There were beetles, spiders, and multiple dead ants everywhere, aswell as urine infront of the toilets and urinal. The toilet paper in the right-most stall was solidified with ants on it, and the other stall didn’t even have a lock on the door. The shower room though, had only a single hook for you to put your stuff on, and a very low-placed shower head with very little water pressure, the worst thing though? There was human fecal matter next to the drain, 2 clumps of it, and that’s where the smell was coming from. Other than that the camping experience was nice.
