Just spent 5 nights in this quiet hidden gem. Absolutely loved it! Not for everyone, theres no power or water and its a long way to a store. Lot of work getting set up and breaking down camp as most of the sites are down steep trails from the parking area, but we found it worth the effort. Wildlife was abundant we even had a visit from a pair of young eagles! Already planning another trip. If you like "roughing it" you'll love it here!
If you want a place that has no rv camping and you like tenting this is your place. A little road noise because of close proximity to hwy 25, but over all a quiet and peaceful place to chill. It is open usually from memorial day to labor day and has pump water and a pit toilet. If you are looking for something bigger then head south to the Giffords camp grounds. It is one of the premier sites on lake roosevelt.
Great place to be spent three days camping and never had a problem views are amazing and it is very kid friendly there is a dock and a great fishing spot!! 10/10
Not good for fishing, and day users took up most of the campground parking, loud, rude and obnoxious. However, the overall experience wasn't bad.
We stayed for 2 nights at #2 and #3 it was a little busy with day users on July 4th which we anticipated but everyone just walked through our campsite right by our tents and personal items to the swim area, rather then going around on the trail which I felt was slightly rude. I would have walked around especially with the sites being paid for we didn't take up any beach area and there was visible trails to the side down to the beach area. That was the only downside. We had some service with Verizon. 30 minutes from Safeway
The campground itself was amazing! Had the water level been higher it would have been even more amazing. HOWEVER- this campground is heavily used by day use people despite a lack of day use area for them. We had day use people walking through our campsite (#3) all day Saturday. There were rotations of large family’s and kids throughout the day which was just not what we had expected from a rent only campground with no day use area. And lastly- out of the control of the campground but every time we camp in this area the jet boat use to extremely excessive. If you’re used to backcountry/dispersed and just trying to find an easy tent only campground- this was easy, just not quiet or private. I’d recommend not to pick the beautiful site #3 if you don’t want ppl waking through your site.
Great camping. Walk in sights. Good fishing off river
