Coast Abbotsford Hotel & Suites

I very much enjoyed my stay with the Coast. The ladies at the front desk were warm, welcoming and helpful. The room was very nice, comfortable, spacious, and it was also well maintained by the cleaning staff. The location was great and the lobby and amenities were very nice. The only complaint I have is in regards to their breakfast service. I would more qualify it as a continental breakfast since the only protein we were offered were refrigerated hard boiled eggs and, they were unforgivably overcooked every morning. I had much higher expectations from a 3-star hôtel.

This was by far the biggest disappointment I’ve had staying at a hotel. We read some reviews and we stay at the coast in Victoria several times a year. This was not on par with the coast brand at all. The hot tub was closed, which we weren’t told at check in, but it is sitting there with still water in it. My kids went in the pool and the moment we sat down at a table and chair silverfish started to crawl out. We went to the front counter and the girl was super nice and assured us the pool area would be closed and cleaned. She also said that they would not offer any compensation because we booked through hotels.com but that if they called she would confirm we should be compensated as I showed her pictures and videos. We couldn’t leave because we were not able to get a refund. The next morning we checked and the dead silverfish were still exactly where I showed the girl so it had not been cleaned at all. Hotels.com said Coast refused to do any refunds or compensation. Also, if you’re staying because 250 a night seems ok with parking and breakfast, know that the continental breakfast was just real and yogurt. The bagels were too stale to toast. There was waffles you could toast so there was that. We left and got breakfast elsewhere.

We had a great experience at our first stay here. The rooms and hotel were clean. The location was great for getting around Abbotsford. And very quick access to the Sumas border. I would highly recommend staying here if you’re planning to visit Abbotsford or cross the boarder at Sumas. Staff were friendly, the building seems mostly well maintained and all portions of the hotel including the pool were clean. The hot tub was out of service during our stay and the elevator seems a little bit old.

There was nothing to complain about. The suite was nice, clean, and comfortable. The location was a perfect walk to everything. Would definitely stay again. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Overall, the hotel was clean and tidy. The front desk staff however were quite arrogant when an issue arose and refused to work with me on finding a solution. I don't need to bore anyone with specifics, but be careful when booking a number of days and then adding days to your stay. I was given a new rate of nearly $100 more. When asked about it, I was told that in no way was I given the previous rate. I had proof through existing booking confirmations but staff refused to look into it.
