Sadly for us there was a young hockey team staying when we were there so it was quite busy and noisy. Which was fine during the day. But come eve the parents partied by the pool way past quiet time , the hotel did not enforce the rules. So we did not get much sleep. The restaurant is wonderful but not child friendly. The rooms were a tad round down. The location is great. Sadly maybe because there were so many guests , the pool area seemed dirty and there was a fair amount of hair in the hot tub. I also got a rash after being in the hot tub. Pool tiles are so slippery. No continental breakfast. I was disappointed overall.
My wife and I have stayed here many times over the past few years and have always been impressed with the friendly and helpful service. They really tried their best during the restrictive time when the Covid was hurting the hotel industry. Well done! We will be back.
WORST HOTEL WE’VE BEEN TO. What a dirty hotel, I can see the bath tubs are not thoroughly scrubbed clean. The carpets need deep cleaning, they’re stained. The standards are low. The tv is not a smart tv, which is expected for the price but I’m just warning you that you won’t find Netflix here. The telephone doesn’t work for room service. It took so long for the dial to work for us to control the room temperature. The key was difficult to use and kept not working. There’s a lot of noise in the evening, and even in the morning, the rooms are not sound proof. It doesn’t make sense at all since many rooms are located right around the pool area. This large group of guests brought their children and were making noise in the evening in the pool areas well past the hotel’s “quiet hour”. The hotel did nothing about it. Guess what, we wake up to their children shouting and making a lot of noise in the pool from 9:00am for the next almost two hours. We are hearing all of the screeching, and could not sleep! After phoning the front desk (with our cell phones since their telephone doesn’t work) the lady at front desk tells us that she can offer us another room, otherwise there wasn’t much else they could do since they are children and “children play” she did say that might ask their parents to tell their children to lower their voices but she would prefer us to get another room. Why would we get another room when we’re checking out in an hour?! That’s horrible customer service. The pictures online are deceiving. This is more of a 2 star hotel in our opinion.
My husband and I and our little dog stayed here on a trip from Calgary to Victoria, Jan 2025. Check-in was quick and easy and we were surprised when the room rate was less expensive than the stated price on-line. We benefited from a "last minute" special (or something like that) The additional charge for the dog was very reasonable at $25/night. Overall the hotel was super clean, the pool and hot tub were very very clean and warm. The restaurant was great and we had a really nice stay. I highly recommend. I also had some trouble booking on-line and ended up booking the Abbottsford Coast Hotel in error. I called the Abbottsford hotel right away and they kindly refunded my money. I was very happy with their kindness and willingness to fix my error.
Very comfortable beds and good linens. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice large rooms. However, my room had white spatter on several surfaces, including mirrors. The floor behind the bathroom door did not get cleaned. Asked for a second cleaning. Better, but still finished the cleaning myself. The next day when I sat at the desk, I noticed more spatters on the wall and a spill from before my reservation date that was not cleaned up. There were sheers missing (not a big deal, but still.) Also, I let them know that the toilet roll holder was broken. It was hanging at an angle allowing the roll to keep falling to the floor. Never got fixed. I was expecting much better from this hotel. If you decide to stay, bring cleaning supplies.
