Customer Reviews
Excellent service, very tasty food and a unique atmosphere makes for a fun and enjoyable restaurant experience. Fried catfish, chicken and shrimp were all incredible as were the pot of greens and the skillet cornbread. My only complaints would be the prices are a bit high and you really need pure butter for that hot cornbread. Also, I loved the plates, cups and pots that you eat from, very unique.
A group from out of town wanted an authentic Nashville meal that wasn't outrageously priced. The Cock of the Walk has always been a family favorite & they didn't disappoint. From the flowers out front to the photo-ops inside to the corn-bread flipping to the southern fried food- everything was great. Our server was helpful but not pushy, and allowed us to take up the table for an extended period of time - we explained it was a reunion of sorts. (Of course we reflected this in the tip). The giant rocking chair was fun! Everyone found something to savor & they declared it the perfect choice. If guests are happy- everyone's happy. Thanks for all the fun! 😁
The reviews seemed to be all over the place about this restaurant. I had a cousin that ate here several years ago and enjoyed it and recommended that we stop by. We are so glad we stopped and ate lunch at this restaurant. It is a little pricey but the food is wonderful and the serving size is plentiful. We shared the full catfish plate that came with 4 filets, ample fries, bucket of coleslaw, couple of hush puppies and water. We also ordered the pot of mustard greens for 2-3 people.. The skillet cornbread was wonderful. Joseph was a wonderful waiter and he flipped that cornbread 8-10 times and landed it perfectly back in the skillet. We had a great experience!
Small menu. Food was overcooked, but the fries undercooked and under seasoned. Cornbread also overcooked. Service was slow even though the place was empty.
We love this place really good Catfish & Shrimp is what we always get. We take our clients that come to our studio to record here all the time. Some have never been to a place like this, as they are from another country. Great service always, friendly servers! Great sweet tea, great cornbread, great coleslaw!!!! We've been going to this restaurant for over 20 years its pretty consistent! Only complaint is the prices have really gone up extremely high. last year the Shrimp & Catfish played was 13.95 now it 20.95!! Probably won't be going out as much until prices get under control. Just a note I posted this on thier FB pagevand they deleted it & blocked me from their page. I emailed the management & never heard back. We will not be going back!
