Great and beautiful campground. Clean campsites. Only opened Thursday to Monday. No water spigots throughout the campground, so you'll need to bring in water. No camp host onsite which posted a problem during our stay. We had 2 different groups that thought it was okay to stay up playing music and having their lights on until about 130. Camp host or someone needs to come by to police at 11pm to ensure the quiet time is being observed.
Never knew this place existed till I took a random drive and o boy do I love it here. No one was here and it was very quiet here. A great place to come out and have lunch with friends and family. There is also a restroom there which makes it nice. Bring your dogs with you they will enjoy it to. Plus there is a lil River that is beautiful and on a rainy day the look of the area is beautiful!
Great little place. The day area is great however the campground is only open on the weekends? What? Did not like that part there was no host to be found so I camped anyway. It should be open to the public with discover pass, period. Not sure why it’s not. Need someone to babysit the campers maybe? Better off going to the national forest to camp where it is always open and not risking being harassed for being there while it’s “closed”.
Great little campground just outside of the city. There are about 8 sites with a vault toilet in the center of the campground. Nicely taken care of, access to day use area with trails. There were about 3 other sites still available the weekend we visited (first weekend in May). I expect this would fill up quickly come summer time. Can't beat free with a discovery pass!
It's open Thursday thru Sunday. Beautiful Cold Creek running through, tall Douglas Fir trees, ferns, nice size camp spots, and it's ran by the Department of Natural Resources, so it's free . All you need is the Discovery Pass, and you can purchase that anywhere that you can buy a fishing license. Clean, quiet, and I highly recommend this place if you don't need to be hundreds of miles out of town to relax.
