Customer Reviews
Our stay at COLEVILLE / WALKER KOA was wonderful. We have stayed at other KOA campgrounds throughout the country and this one exceeded our expectations on many levels. The entrance signs are very visible along with all the other signs for parking at check-in and throughout the park. Walking into the office I was greeted by a friendly smile and all the details for checking in to our RV site. They made it easy to navigate to our site and made sure we were good with setting up. Walking throughout the park we were thoroughly impressed with the level of detail taken from the superior clean conditions, plenty of signs, meticulously maintained gravel for your RV, level sites, just the right number of lights at night and the list goes on and on. We felt very safe and comfortable during our stay. The owners take pride of all aspects to ensuring the park is at peak performance. We stayed 6 nights and just in that short amount of time they made several improvements for the safety of the guests thus making an even more enjoyable stay. The K9 park is ideal for letting your pup run around and burn some energy off. The cliffs are beautifully lit up at night. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful. There were ample communications prior to check in and during our stay. We are looking forward to staying here again!!
We stayed two nights in September without reservations. At check-in the staff was professional and friendly enough. We enjoyed the pool, the trails to the river and along the edge of the hills, and the views of Centennial Cliffs. Nice clean park with gravel driveways, clean bath/shower rooms, nice patio and BBQ grill which we used. There are quite a few motel rooms here and even some tent sites. Lawn area is well tended to with volleyball and tether ball. You can have campfires here except in tent sites due their proximity to the wild lands. Plenty of wild lands to walk your dogs in. We enjoyed meeting people here, at Mountain View BBQ and Walker Coffee house. We explored the Sonora Pass area during our stay and would stay here again. Good times at Walker KOA.
Beam me up Scottie If you’re making your way up the 395 and need a place to stay, this your KOA. From welcome to departure our stay was nothing short of perfection, thanks to Scott (Host/Owner). First, this spot was the only place in the Walker Coleville area with Half & Half, if you know you know. ☕️🫶🏽 Arrival, he took the time to explain everything, from the views to the town finds. He also made sure we made it to the 84 degree temp pool to cool off after a long days journey. 🚐 Departure note: we had an issue and needed an extra night, seamlessly Scott was able to handle everything over the phone and emailed me a receipt. That’s world class service, and in this day and age that’s hard to find. 👀 Do your family a favor, grab a Walker Burger and couple night at this place, you won’t regret it. Thanks Scott⭐️🏆
Very well run KOA. Extremely neat and clean. The camp hosts handle after hours issues very effectively. We had a rattle snake very near the dog park. The camp hosts we re contacted and quickly took care of the problem! And since you're so close to Walker, stop by Walker Burger!
This was a beautiful KOA. It’s 50 miles south of Reno. It’s in a very small town with 2 open restaurants at the time. My husband and I enjoyed the pool and met some nice fellow tourists there at the pool. They have clean coin laundry facilities. And really good internet. And fishing close by. Also they had a dog run. We toured the ghost town Bodie from this location and enjoyed a wonderful BBQ meal close by. My review of the restaurant is on TripAdvisor. The grounds were kept up really nice and the rock formation behind the campground had a beauty of its own. We will stay here again.
I simply cannot say enough about the great experience we had at this KOA. The facilities were top notch; small store with basic staples and RV basics, showers, laundry, pool, rec room, playground for kids, dog wash station, fenced dog area. The campsites were nicely landscaped and very level with full hookups. There are varied amenities depending on which spot you select - fire pits, gas grills, covered seating areas, tables and chairs, and fenced dog kennels should you need them for your furry friends. Plus there are some spectacular cliffs behind the campground that are nicely lit at night. My husband and a group of friends took a trail from the camp to the KOA’s private area on the river and fished! And needless to say, they also had a fish cleaning station! This place was very clean and well maintained and the staff super amenable and helpful. I know we will be back for another “glamping” experience here and highly recommend them.
This campground is exceptionally well-maintained, spotlessly clean, and set in a truly stunning location. The owners go above and beyond to be welcoming and accommodating. For me, this isn’t just a stop along the way—it’s a destination in itself. The birdwatching is amazing, especially the geese that nest in the cliffs overlooking the grounds.
My husband and I stopped in here as a last minute decision and I’m glad we did. Even though we showed up after hours, the camp host came out to help us get settled in. It’s quiet and clean, with large spots and clean bathrooms/showers. A bonus was a short walking trail that our dogs enjoyed exploring. Even though we only stayed overnight, I would definitely come back again.
