This is a small state park in SC, but we really enjoyed our stay. Over the past few years gravel has been added to the sites and the roads paved. It is very well-maintained. All sites are full-hookups. Most of the sites are fairly close together, but they're at different angles around the loop. Our site #20 was more in a corner and is now our favorite site at this park. It backed up to the entrance to a short trail which is easy and very nice. There is a boardwalk to the Edisto River. Part of the trail goes along the cypress swamp.

I recently visited Colleton County State Park and had a fantastic experience! The park is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, making it a perfect spot for a day out. There are plenty of activities available, including a lovely playground for the kids and numerous picnic tables for a relaxing meal amidst nature. One of the highlights was the hiking trails, which are clearly marked, making navigation easier and safer. It's a great place to unwind, enjoy the outdoors, and spend quality time with family and friends. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a fun day in the park.

Small, but nice little getaway for the low county people. If you are new to staying in a tent or camper, you can learn little things with this beautiful little getaway. Edisto River has been apart of my whole life, so it may touch me a little more than it would y'all. It has a special place in my heart. Super nice people!! By a small road that has more people passing through during the day, but not as many at night. Enjoy!!

We traveled here from Florida. The Ranger, Larry was so nice and helpful. Our site (20) was perfect for our 43’ 5th wheel. We enjoyed the trails, river access, the open field and the kids park. We were under a flood warning the day after we arrived, but we kept an eye on the river levels and Larry kept us posted too. We took a day trip to Congaree National Park, which is about an hour and 20 mins away. Larry suggested we also visit Givhans Ferry state park about 15 mins away, so we did that the next day. That park was nice too, but we’re partial to Colleton. We would definitely stay here again.

Well maintained clean state park with excellent facilities. Unfortunately, not a lot to do during the winter months - you can’t rent kayaks or canoes until March (our fault for not reading that before we booked) and otherwise there’s short a 0.3 mile trail. Good stop, but not much to do if you aren’t able to get on the water.
