i love this campground! it's a very beautiful place and the campsites are secluded fairly well. unfortunately, the trails were closed due to the recent hurricanes, Milton and Helene. so, that left us with not much to do active-wise. still a beautiful place to walk around with some cool tidbits of history. we would love to come here often, however, you must book far in advance as everything is always taken. the ranger also informed us that no one will be on site to answer phones past 3:30pm so i hope that helps someone out. overall, we had a good time!
Wonderful state park if you’re camping, otherwise not to much to do as their one trail was closed due to impact from Hurricane Helene. I love how the tent campers have their own loop for the most part, which was a new experience for us (particularly in the winter months). Recommend sites 8 and 11, we enjoyed both sites. close enough to the bathroom without feeling like you’re on top of them.
January 14-25, 2025 We had a great tent camping experience. The staff and Park Ranger were friendly and helpful. Showers and bathrooms clean and warm. We had the opportunity to see an alligator and manatees in the lagoon. Don’t miss the Oasis Welcome Center. It is full of alligators and birds. We also saw a turtle. Highly recommend this park!
Beautiful, everything is clean and well kept. They have boats you can rent or have a tour guide. They have boats, canoes and kayaks available. Lots of Fun in the sun⭐️🚤🌟⭐️☀️💥
It’s a good place for a day visit but not for camping, there it’s a lot of mosquitoes, not good to camp and have a nice family experience. They have to control the mosquitoes and the plagues, that will improve the place and make it more interesting. The lake is beautiful, we saw a crocodile 🐊 very close to the canoe 🛶, the place it’s very clean the sanitary service room very clean, dog friendly. Our schnauzer love it. The Only thing that I change is mosquitoes and the plagues control.
