First and foremost, the staff was absolutely fantastic. Very friendly and happy to help you. The store was well stocked. The campground doesn’t have full hookups so it’s only good for a 2-3 night stay. There is a dump station but it’s not great for larger RVs. There are very few restrooms and showers to serve this large campground. The entrance is a narrow single lane driveway. Many of the sites had 4-5 vehicles and lots of people per site. It did get quiet at night. We stayed here since it was close to the Font Hill castle. We probably won’t return.
Loved it, we camped during one of the Halloween weekend festivities. Truck or treating for the kids. Adult and children pumpkin carving/ decorating/ stenciling contest, also costume contests for children as well as the adults. A monster mash dance party. Just lots of fun for the whole family.
This place is beautiful The bathrooms were very clean. The Employees and neighbors were super nice all around amazing place to go for a weekend and very reasonably priced definitely going back plenty of stuff for kids to do. I love this place. A lot of fun activities and events. I can’t say enough about how much I enjoyed this place i’ve been to a few other campgrounds and I’ve never experienced so much relaxation and fun. Can’t wait to go back.
⛳ Had the best time mini golfing! We were the only ones on the course. The environment was so serene surrounded by the campgrounds. Mini golf is open to the public as well as the campgrounds visitors. Everyone was so friendly and I love the sense of community.
Absolutely had an amazing time with my husband and son! We got a cabin and had an absolute blast. PA is an amazing place to begin with and as soon as you drove into the resort it felt extremely friendly, and like home. The receptionist was a young lady that had a great energy towards her, and super bubbly which I enjoyed since we saw her often, everyone on the campsite was so nice, and there were many kids! It rained on the days we were there, however that did not stop us from having fun, there was a game room there and we stopped by there to play a few games. The cabin itself was perfect. So simple, and had the basic necessities. The only thing that didn’t work was the TV since it was super choppy, but we didn’t care about that since we were trying to find a quiet getaway and relaxation. Overall, this camp resort is a great place for a quick getaway especially if you have children. Would come visit this place again and try the tent site!
My family has continued to return to Colonial Woods Campground for around 8+ years now and I can’t say enough great things about this hidden gem! From the moment you arrive, the staff will make you feel welcome and at home. The check-in process is smooth and friendly, and it’s clear that this campground is run by people who genuinely care about the guest experience. The grounds are absolutely beautiful—lush, well-maintained, and surrounded by peaceful woods that make for a relaxing, nature-filled escape. The sites are spacious and clean, whether you’re in an RV, a cabin, or tent camping. We especially love how family-friendly the environment is. There’s plenty of activities for kids and adults alike, including a sparkling clean pool, mini golf, and planned weekend events that are both fun and well-organized. They even offer tubing excursions down the Delaware River! One of the standout features is the sense of community. Whether it’s chatting with other campers around a fire or participating in campground games, you’ll get a warm, welcoming vibe throughout the campground. Bathrooms and showers always spotless—something that’s not always easy to find at campgrounds. Plus, the general store on-site has all the essentials and even a few treats you wouldn’t expect. Colonial Woods strikes the perfect balance between rustic charm and modern convenience. If you’re looking for a clean, safe, and friendly place to relax, recharge, and make memories, this is it. To the Haubert’s and Stephanie, the lovely young lady who runs the lodge, thank you for all of the special memories you’ve helped create for our family throughout the years. Can’t wait for this season to begin!
We arrived assuming my friend and I could each have our own small tent on the site. We were told no. As of this writing, there is nothing on the website that states that limitation. Given how huge some of the RVs are, 2 adults with no kids in tents should be ok. It also would have been nice if the person behind the desk were at least a little apologetic instead of snippy. In my experience, most campgrounds allow 2 small tents. I was also disappointed by how close the sites are - although lots of trees help with shade, but not privacy. It is a "family" campground and they do cater to kids. I prefer a more primitive experience. I did not choose the campground and would not return, but if you have an RV and a bunch of kids, it is good. By the way, on the plus side, the bathrooms are immaculate, though I wish there were showers.
Nice campground. Sites are very close together with zero privacy however, well kept. Showers and bathrooms are nicely kept and clean, as is the laundry facilities. Nice little store on the premises and a playground and mini golf for the kids. Unfortunately it rained our entire trip up to PA so we weren’t able to get out and walk the grounds.
We stay here in Memorial day, LOVED it the staff were great, bathhouse were very clean, OUR SITE WAS PERFECT C39, only one problem the waiting list is 5 years, apparently people don't leave that's a good thing ❤️ highly recommended we will be back
My family has been going to Colonial Woods for 15 years. Great location, Love Mini-golf and fishing in the lake. Always activities on the weekends!
