The hosts are amazing! Very helpful! Restrooms / outhouses are always clean, and the campground is also clean. If you grab up camp site 41..42..area! You have a trail to the lake. Manitou lake. The only 1 item to be aware of... highway noise. Other than that! We will be back.
This is a great place if you want to get away from people. The sites are spaced out among the pines and there's plenty of room to not feel like you are on top of your neighbor. There are only rustic toilets so you may want pocket hand sanitizer to keep with you. They are very clean however. We had no trouble getting our 30 ft. trailer through the campground, but there definitely some sites that would be too small, so make sure pay attention to the sizes when you make reservations. The campground hosts were very friendly, giving us some hiking suggestions. There's an easy hike to Monitou Lake as well as several hiking paths in the area. I would choose to "rough it" here any day over staying at one of the many of the private campgrounds in there area that may have hook-ups but no privacy whatsoever.
We had a fantastic weekend here definitely coming back it was so beautiful spent a whole day walking around the lake. Plus the hosts were so kind, friendly and helpful, thank you.
Best camp host EVER! Chris and Cathy kept the restrooms and all the campgrounds very, very clean. We just loved staying here. Quiet time was perfect! Every one at all the sites were very courteous and stayed quiet after 10pm. Although there's no electricity or running water at the sites the water at the spicket was really good to drink and use for cooking. Hope to see you both back next year!
Nice relaxing time. Camp hosts are the best. EXTREMELY CLEAN restrooms! Mid-week stay nice and quiet.
