The Columbia River Gorge national scenic area is responded with beauty and offers tourists and locals alike a truly unforgettable experience. From the waterfalls, to the vista lookout there are spectacular views of all the beauty Oregon has to offer. It is super easy to get to these spots just outside of Portland city limits and is well worth the visit. It’s worth noting too that everything is free so it’s absolutely worth the value in experience. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Oregon!
Just some pictures on a cold day of the Stevenson Water front. Nice easy paved trails, with porta-potties during the winter and mostly clean bathrooms during the summer (depending on the nastiness of visitors). Decent parking and Tractor trailer trucks make frequent deliveries to the small scale industry in the area.
The hotel staff was pleasant, the room was clean and the landscape around the hotel was beautiful. The only recommendation I have is that they improve the general cleaning around the hotel. Floors were dirty and they never cleaned the tables in the lounge area. The two days I was there, all tables in the lounge were dirty and still has all the rings from the glasses of drinks. I witnessed a table of a family of four having breakfast, two adults and two children. When they finished eating breakfast, the waiter took the two coffee cups that were by the children and the-used them for the next table; mght be clean, might not. Not good practice. See pictures below. We had brunch and when they opened the dinning room, the floor still had food on the floor and looked like it hasn't been vacuumed in a while. No general dusting, like tables and lamps, and fixures. Brunch was done very well, with plenty to eat. Everything tasted great.
The Gorge is beautiful, specifically Multnomah Falls. But this picturesque landscape is also a tourist trap and definitely not a typical trail hike. It’s paved as you wind your way slowly to the top. And the majority of visitors were there for photos opps dressed in brunch outfits. So you have to exert patience while slowly meandering up the path. I suggest arriving early morning.
Beautiful waterfall! It's unbelievable how tall it is. We got plenty of great pictures! They have several trail options so you can go higher and higher up as far as you want! The trail is paved and easy but it's kind of steep at some points.
