The Kansas State Park fees are strange compared to other state parks. You need to pay your campsite fee and then a vehicle day use fee. What’s different is if your RV has an engine, it needs its own vehicle fee even though it’s up on jacks and connected to a pedestal just like a 5th wheel that requires no fee. $5 a day on top of the campsite fee and on top of the toad’s fee simply because it can move on its own. Strange. We had full hookups and that was all okay. The sewer drop was non-threaded, water pressure okay and 50 amp service relatively steady. The site was reasonably level and deep enough for our rig. Unlike other state parks, this one seemingly allows extended stays. We had full timers all around us with golf carts and cluttered yards. Most state parks have 10 to 14 day limits, Comfort Cove seems to allow exceptions. Not a big deal, just a deviation from the norm. The park is relatively quiet with moderate traffic and decently clean.
Everything about this campground is Top Notch.....From the Fab-u-lous lady Cathy who checks you in with a smile, professionalism and wit and charm, to Jacob the Park Ranger/ manager who is one of the nicest guys. All the employees were really friendly and constantly busy. The views were great, the hiking trails were very well maintained, marked and a little challenging. My site was clean, $23, and the amenities were spot on which is important for a ☕ drinker like me!!!........ and they even had wood supplied for the campfire.!!! I can't say enough great things. ENJOY.!!!
