Clean and well maintained small campground! All the campsites are right next to the river with easy access! I can't wait to go back!
It was pretty awesome aside from the agressive bees that were attacking me around the water, and the fact that there is no restroom on the far end of the campground (or outhouse), so people before us just urinated and goodness knows what else all on the trails. It really needs a good cleaning by the people who do community service. I was afraid to go anywhere on the trails because i wasnt sure where people used the bathrooms at. Its one thing to pee in the woods while camping, I get that, but entirely another thing if your going to go #2 and/or leave your toilet paper behind. I wish people showed more manners than that it seems like they wouldnt do that in their own yard would they? So, why when they are camping in nature?? Pretty thoughtless if you ask me. I thought we were to leave no signs of people being there? People need to teach their children to respect nature, the animals, and also things that dont belong to them....one can dream I guess!! Even though I spent much time on the toilet situation it was still very enjoyable to camp. There is directly across from the entrance to the camp sites a dirt road that goes up the mountain about 5 + miles that holds an AWESOME waterfall that you can walk under and behind. It is an easy hike although up hill most of the way it only takes 15 min at most to get to it from parking area. There are natural caves at the waterfall as well. I didnt explore because it was getting dark already, and we didn't want to be in the woods without a flashlight if it got dark. There are bear and all kinds of large animals to keep you out of there after dark. Good to bring dog to distract bears if needed. Just kidding but it would work. I know from experience in Alaska!! Overall 8/10 we could be 10/10 with some tidying up and placement of bathroom or outhouse on far end of campgrounds. We will return sometime to check it out again. We were going to stay thurs- monday but went home on sunday because of the heatwave!! 95-100 summer of '22. It was HOT!!!
We have done a large family camp here for several years. One of our favorite spots.
The wild the weird and the wonderful, Family friends and loved ones come see this beautiful space in mother nature's domain.
