One of the standout features of Cooper Gulch Campground is its proximity to the Trinity River, which offers opportunities for boating, fishing, and enjoying the water. The small boat launch area, though limited in size, is sufficient for launching small boats and canoes. Visitors can also enjoy the peaceful setting by the river, taking in the fresh mountain air and the sound of rushing water.

The campground itself is quite rustic, with basic amenities such as fire pits and picnic tables provided for each campsite. Water spigots are available, though visitors have noted occasional issues with functionality. The pit toilets are simple but functional, with two stalls available for privacy. While there isn't a designated beach area, the riverside setting provides plenty of opportunities to enjoy the water.

One of the most appealing aspects of Cooper Gulch Campground is its seclusion. With minimal road noise and only 5 campsites, this campground offers a peaceful retreat from the chaos of daily life. The campsites are spread out enough to provide privacy, but close enough to feel part of a small community. Site 4, in particular, offers a nice shaded spot for those seeking relief from the sun.

Visitors have praised the stunning views and natural beauty of Cooper Gulch Campground. One camper described the sunrise as "blowing you away" with the way sunlight hits the hillsides, especially during winter when the snow adds a brilliant white contrast to the landscape. The campground's location in Trinity Alps makes it a year-round destination, offering opportunities for hiking, fishing, and photography in all seasons.

Customer feedback highlights both the strengths and areas for improvement of Cooper Gulch Campground. Many visitors appreciate the quiet setting and stunning views, describing it as "a nice rustic campground" that offers a true escape from city life. This is a nice rustic campground. Only 5 campsites and it was very quiet during our stay (aside from the road noise but it's not a heavily trafficked road). The water spigots weren't working, hopefully that is something that will be repaired. 2 stall pit toilet. Only site 4 gets decent shade. There isn't really a "beach" area and just a tiny little boat launch but it worked out.

This view can just blow you away with how the sun hits off the hill side. Then with the snow just as white and bright but just beautiful and breath taking.

Loved Lewiston Lake Serenaded Avianly during the day and Amphibiously in evening with a solo performance by an Owl. Serene and slow paced.

Beautiful place to park by lake to take a swim. There are only a few parking spots but not too busy. There is a ten dollar a day parking fee which goes to maintaining the area. It is adjacent to a small campground for a few motorhomes and tents lakeside.

Small campground by Lewiston lake. Clean and pretty.
