🌲Beautiful! Secluded! We were the only campers on the far side of "Yellowhammer Loop." 🏕Campsites were spaced far enough apart. 🚻Bathrooms were spread out & near to all campsites. Clean. 🧖🏻♀️Warm shower water. 🙋🏼♀️Hosts were very friendly & never intrusive, always ready to help with whatever needs arose. 🏖We were there before the beach & day use area was opened so cannot comment on it.
Loved my stay here. The hosts were great! A nasty storm came through and blew over and snapped off many trees! As soon as the worst of it was over the hosts were at my tent right away to make sure I was okay. That's how nasty that storm was. And the host was already starting to help clear the roadway with a chainsaw within 15 minutes after the storm. They had a LOT of debris to clean up. One pic is showing the thickness of the tree that fell on site 2. (No one was at site 2 thank God) It was nice and quiet during my stay. Saw deer and fawns 🦌 everyday.
Wow! I read a lot of positive reviews about this place and it still exceeded my expectations! The drive-up camping spots are perfectly spread out with plenty of privacy. The staff was present (and super friendly) but never intrusive. There’s also a lake on site with a large swimming area. Absolutely amazing and can’t wait to go back!
Beautiful area. We stayed in our motor home last week of June 2020, had a good time. We were at yellow hammer loop, site 16. This site is on a lake side but during the summer it overgrown with bushes so you don't have a view, only when leaves fall down. Also fireplace is not on a flat surface, so we had accident falling or tripping on a grill during night time. Site 15 has view of a lake even during the summer because it is elevated. Site 18 also on a lake side but no view during the summer. Hosts were nice, cleaned vacated lots promptly. Yellowhammer loop has boat ramp and overlook on a lake. Sites 19 and 17 pull through. Also plenty of electric/water sites and tent as well. We drove to sipsey wilderness , directions in there are very confusing, found a few waterfalls but couldn't find a big one . Also we biked to a lake/beach area and in both loops. Overall we liked it and would recommend to others.
Storm did ALOT of damage to sites, especially the tent loop, it was our first time there. we look forward to returning. there is a lot to do in the area, if you enjoy the outdoors like us.. we hope they will have repairs done by then. The swim area, beach area, playground, were all closed due to damages during our visit.
