Fishing is also a popular activity on the lake, with chances to catch various trout species. The surrounding wilderness provides opportunities for hiking, although trails directly accessible from the campground may be limited. The remote location offers excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing, including potential sightings of black bears, deer, and various birds. The clear night skies away from city lights provide exceptional stargazing opportunities.
Promotional Information: Camping in the Ross Lake National Recreation Area requires permits, and fees may apply. Local users planning a trip to Corral Creek Boat-In Campground should check the National Park Service website for information on permit requirements, fees, and any current advisories or closures. Consider planning your trip during the shoulder seasons (spring or fall) for potentially fewer crowds and pleasant weather. Bringing your own boat or arranging for water taxi service to access the campground is necessary. While there are no specific campground promotions, the unique experience of boat-in camping offers a distinct and memorable way to enjoy the natural beauty of the region.
For local adventurers seeking a secluded and water-access-only camping experience, Corral Creek Boat-In Campground within the Campgrounds & RV Parks category in Ross Lake National Recreation Area provides an exceptional opportunity to immerse yourselves in the wilderness. A lot of people come here just for the day. We camped here four years ago, and out of the 4 spots, it didn't have a bear box. We kept our cooler in the boat. We had a bear come down at night, thank God we had our dogs that scared it off. It's a gorgeous spot.
The other reviewer is incorrect - Corral Creek has an excellent dock with space for about 4 boats. Fantastic camp sites, great toilet. Overall, this is our favorite place on the lake to camp.
When u like to camp but not near people get u a boat or go hiking and find this place
