We love the Salton Sea. We'd rather have our RV here at the primitive campsites than hooked up to sewer and electricity. The sunrises and sunsets are indescribable. The birds are wonderous.
Beautiful camping right next to the Salton Sea. Super clean bathrooms and shower facilities. The train goes by on a semi frequent basis but wasn’t an issue at night. No smell for us thankfully. At $10 a night, it’s an exceptional deal.
It was a gem in the dessert. Stayed at Covina campground for $10/night. Other campgrounds are $20/n. Park rangers checked on us 3 times to make sure we were ok. Plenty of water in the site. No sand at the beach but crushed shells so wear shoes. Soft soil as you get closer to the water so I couldn't touch the beach water, I got scared. Beautiful sunset but the air smells fishy. Don't go during summer unless you have a/c.
Dusty road with parking on the roadside. Pit toilet and dpigot with fresh water. Long heavy train 24/7 non dtop. Only deaf can sleep.
Excellent basic camping area, only $10 per night. Lots of spaces, only 3 others staying the night I was there. The smell was strong when first arriving, didn't notice it by morning. Not sure if I got use to it or wind changed overnight?? Very interesting place to stay, I recommend researching the history of the Salton sea.
