Key features and services, along with customer feedback, include:

  • Site C10 Positives: This particular site is praised for being beautiful, family-friendly, and suitable for tent camping with soft topsoil. It includes a picnic bench and fire pit. The restroom is also noted as being pretty nice with good hours.
  • Clean Showers: The showers are consistently mentioned as a positive aspect of the campground.
  • Family-Friendly: Some reviewers found the campground to be a good place for families.
  • Parking: Parking is general, not per site. Trailers should be parked in a separate lot up the road, or detached for parking next to the site.
  • Negative Aspects:
    • Maintenance: Some reviewers have complained about the lack of maintenance of the surrounding grounds, comparing it to a swamp.
    • Mosquitoes: A significant presence of mosquitoes is reported, overshadowing other wildlife.
    • Staff: Some reviewers found the groundskeepers to be unpleasant and unhelpful.

Customer reviews present a polarized view. While some appreciate specific sites and amenities like the showers, others are critical of the overall maintenance and the abundance of mosquitoes. Potential visitors should weigh these factors when considering a stay at Cottonwood Campground.

It is recommended that potential visitors carefully read the reviews and consider their priorities before making a reservation. If clean showers and family-friendly sites are important, and you are prepared to deal with mosquitoes, this campground might be acceptable. However, if maintenance and a pleasant staff interaction are essential, you might want to consider alternative options.

The odious rancid nature of murk in a swamp almost compares to how little the surrounding grounds is taken care of. Sure it nestles a nice building, but I ask you do you come for buildings in camping? While it could be argued that bugs and by the many they do exist outside ... The sheer amount of mosquitoes more than overshadows the presence of other wild life from the blatant amount of stagnancy present. The grounds keepers are clearly tired of their jobs and are generally unpleasant to interact with, treating others less like people and more like obstacles. The shower is the only reason this gets two stars, whoever is financially assisting this place should be embarrassed and an investigation of investment is advised!

Lot: C10. Beautiful site, nice stagf, family friendly, soft top soil for good staking and sleeping for tent campers, pretty nice restroom, good hours, picnic bench and fire pit for each site. My boy and i had a good, peaceful rest before continuing our cross-country journey. Be advised: the parking is general, not per site. If you have a trailer of any kind, there is a parking lot just up the road that can accommodate long vehicles or you can detach a short trailer and park next to it.

Have visited more than 30 campgrounds in five different states and this was worst of all. Super loud and noisy past 2 am for two straight nights. Cops would come, people would be quiet for ten minutes, then start blasting loud music again. Will never stay here again. Rules not enforced.

Tall tree grove without separation of tent sites and no view of water. Nice restrooms and showers.

This place was SO. HARD. TO. FIND. They need to update the address or something. It took me to the wrong spot, and it was so dark with not enough signage. The rangers I eventually spoke with were helpful. And the bathrooms were nice.
