Site 4 is considered the best option, as it is located farther from the other sites and offers easy access to the lake and hiking trails.

The campground provides a vault toilet for visitor convenience. Activities such as fishing and kayaking are popular, with access to four interconnected lakes. The fishing is reportedly good, with opportunities to catch crappie, bass, and pike. The general store is conveniently located just 5 minutes away, and the access road, although dirt and sand, is well-maintained.

The campsite's proximity to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, between 20-50 minutes drive, makes it an excellent base for exploring the area. With sites priced at only $8, visitors can reserve the entire campground for an extended peaceful retreat.

• "Not very secluded but very pretty. No electricity, be cautious driving out there, wouldn't recommend any lower vehicles. 4 does seem to be the best choice. I stayed in 3 and it was right next to another one, like no barriers. They are all pretty small as well but all have a fire ring and picnic table."
• "Great primitive campsites. 1&2 are small 3 is literally right next to 2 so if you want privacy reserve both 2&3 otherwise you’ll be camping right on top of others. Site 4 is the BEST. Far away from all the others and it’s the easiest access to the lake and the hiking trail. All sites have picnic tables and fire rings. Vault toilet is adequate. We fished everyday and kayaked. There are 4 lakes connected to council lake. The fishing was good. Lots of good crappie and some average bass with some small pike. With the sites only being $8 I reserved the whole campground for a few days to get some peace. General store is 5 min away and the access road is dirt/sand but it’s well maintained so access was not an issue. This site is between 20-50 min drive from the various pictured rocks attractions. You will not be disappointed."
