Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Benton Harbor/St Joseph

Stayed 11/8 was charged for single room along with $50 deposit. Noticed a $150 pending charge on 11/12. Called and spoke to 2 different front desk people and said manager was not on duty at the time. supposedly the bedding was “damaged” since when can they charge you over the deposit fee..? Still waiting on call back. Have stayed here several times with no real issues until now. Although, whenever I have stayed in the past, tv didn’t work, missing shower curtain, no clean towels, dirty floors - i asked the front desk one time for a vacuum because the room i got was beyond dirty so i vacuumed the room myself because the housekeeping clearly didn’t do their job.

**Google Review for Country Inn and Suites Benton Harbor** ⭐☆☆☆☆ Our recent stay at the Country Inn and Suites in Benton Harbor was incredibly disappointing. As soon as we arrived, the hallways were littered with trash, making the entire atmosphere feel neglected and unwelcoming. The cleanliness of our room was severely lacking, with smears on the mirrors and faucets, and shockingly, the toilet was dirty. The furniture was no better, marred with unsightly stains that suggested a lack of proper maintenance. To make matters worse, all the tile floors in the building were so sticky that our feet would actually stick to them, making every step uncomfortable. After being enticed with the promise of a continental breakfast, it was nowhere to be found, leaving us both hungry and frustrated. Attempting to address these concerns was another challenge, as the front desk staff was hardly recognizable in a Playboy hoodie with the hood up. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel based on our experience. It was a letdown from start to finish, and I hope they make necessary improvements for future guests.

Breakfast wasn't ready at 7:20, there was no conditioner in the shower and the shampoo was empty, I had to put bags in the trash can, the floor in the room had a slope to it which worried me. It's the worst Country Inn and Suites I've been in.

My family and I were staying here for a wedding and I really regret not checking the reviews. The only reason it gets one star is because there was breakfast, a shower, and I'd say a bed but not even that was good. My mother in laws room had two beds, one WITH BED BUGS!!!! Yes bed bugs.... by the time I was told, we had already spent the night from the reception and had no time to change hotels since we had a wedding to get to. We all slept awful thinking about potential bed bugs in our other beds because if they were in one bed who is to say they aren't in the rest? We found four in the first night and in following morning there were babies crawling on the pillows... absolutely disgusting. When we told the front desk, they almost seemed like it wasn't the first time. The rooms were barely cleaned and they clearly need new sheets and beds. Currently laying everything, including my daughters pack n play (WHERE I FOUND ONE), in the sun in hopes I don't bring any in my home.

Simon: I was hesitant to stay here based on the previous reviews, but I am glad I gave it a chance. I was checked in by the General Manager and she told me they have made some good improvements since she has been there. Everyone was very nice and friendly. I come to the area for work every few weeks and I will be returning.
