Rooms are outdated but have everything you need. Our room was surprisingly very large. The hotel itself was clean and the staff were friendly and efficient. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed the fireplace considering the lower than normal temperatures during our trip! The bathroom in our room left a bit to be desired as there was mold on the ceiling and the shower curtain was too short resulting in the floor being absolutely drenched after a shower. We requested extra towels which arrived immediately.
Perfect place to stay when in Lake Placid! Stayed 1 night when visiting Whiteface and it was a very scenic drive and far enough away from downtown. Beds were very comfortable, pillows were great and parking wasn't an issue on a September Saturday even when getting in after 11pm. Staff we're very friendly, the restaurants breakfast was pricey but tasted good. Hotel was also very clean. Didn't get a change to use it but the pool and hot tubs were working and looked nice!
I'm a Marriott Platinum member. This is an OK place. It feels a little worn down but not horribly. Staff is great. It's close to the main part of Lake Placid but not really walkable. One thing others have noted is the lack of complementary coffee. That is a fail.
Rooms smelt kinda funky, but the hotel was very accommodating when my coworker/friend and I wanted conjoining rooms! My fridge didn't work, despite a foreign mantience guy came to look at it and said it was fine. (I have meds that need refrigeration ), thankfully my friends fridge worked. Bed was comfy, shower pressure was great, shampoo, conditioner and body wash smelt good! Hotel was quiet!
We have stayed here many times in the past. So disgusted with its decline. Dirty, old & worn out furniture, tiny flatscreen, bathroom old & not very accessible. Rooms weren’t ready. All drawers open, bed couch unfolded & pillows on floor, pool in disrepair. Only good thing was the breakfast cook who made an excellent breakfast. We won’t be back
