A clean, safe and QUIET area between the crazy, touristy Myrtle Beach and the lovely and exclusive North Myrtle Beach. It's a great hotel and an amazing value relative to the places I usually travel. A hotel of this caliber ordinarily costs so much more. This Marriott features a truly outstanding staff of enormous competence and kindness. But the true star here is Chef Dave in the little bistro inside the hotel. The food is amazing-- fresh and clean and inspired. Never been to a Courtyard Marriott with a real Chef. The menu is excellent, featuring something for every taste. There are truly delicious and healthy breakfast options in addition to the wonderful, traditional southern favorites. This place is an unexpected gem, both the hotel and most especially the bistro. Don't miss it. Oh and extra kudos for Ms. Bobbie Jo at the front desk who made us feel so very welcomed. .
So, I will start with the positives, place was pretty clean, I didn't see any bugs which was a plus. Negatives: If you are going for the indoor pool, just be aware that they have the chlorine level so high that all the children in the pool couldn't stop coughing, my son did not stop until we left the pool area. It is so strong that my eyes were burning the whole time I was in there. Couldn't get any towels because they said they were all being washed at the time, so we had nothing to dry off with. More attention could be paid to dusting and cleaning the room, and the tray for the coffee maker was missing so couldn't use it.
My stay was Jan 18, 2025 Courtyard Myrtle Beach, Barefoot Landing booked via a travel site. The staff was great. The room was 221, it looks fine upon entry, but long hair on sink (redhead not mine), the soap ledge in shower appeared to have a smudge of blood, probably from a razor that the maids missed cleaning, but what really got me was absolutely no one is vacuuming under the beds. My mom dropped an earring and I went looking for it on my hands and knees and lots of candy wrappers, crumbs, etc was under both beds. If my room was like this, all the rooms are like this. All the dark carpet probably hiding a lot. I informed the front desk upon checkout, but for good measure I added this review.
Nice room for price, very clean. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. This is an older building, but they have updated the rooms. On the night we were there, Marriott had a problem with the cable TV in all their hotels. We reported TV not working and they explained the issue and stated it was being worked on. The TV never came on, no big deal for me, hubs wasn’t thrilled, but not their fault.
The hotel and room were very quiet, comfortable, and inviting. The location to shopping, entertainment, and food are extremely convenient. Staff were kind and helpful. We love a well-maintained Marriot and Courtyard - North Myrtle Beach is one. We had two inconveniences - housekeeping didn't come on the scheduled day. Housekeeping came with clean towels and washcloths after 5 p.m. though. The interior pool & hot tub were unavailable. I was disappointed but exercised instead.
