Courtyard St. Petersburg Downtown

I had the pleasure of interacting with Katrina, the hotel check-in assistant at the Courtyard by Marriott in St. Petersburg Downtown, and I must say that she truly exemplifies what it means to be a dedicated and hardworking professional. Katrina went above and beyond to assist me during my stay, showing exceptional kindness and a willingness to help in any way possible. In a moment of need, Katrina took the time out of her busy schedule to assist me with printing documents for a work presentation. Her attentiveness and proactive approach not only saved me time and effort but also ensured that I was well-prepared for my professional obligations. Katrina's exceptional customer service and dedication to her role truly made a lasting impression on me. I wholeheartedly recommend Katrina to anyone seeking a memorable and delightful experience at the Courtyard by Marriott in St. Petersburg Downtown. Perfect location, walkable to so many things downtown. Our main concern was the $40 a day valet because we did not know that was the case when we booked, however we opted out and were able to find free street parking super close by every day even on the weekend, so I wouldn’t waste your money/time on the valet. Room was nicer than expected. Very clean and fully updated. Really nice shower and updated bathroom as well. My single complaint was one day when we ran out of toilet paper, the guy at the desk gave my boyfriend an attitude and told him it would take 20-30 minutes to bring more toilet paper. However, my boyfriend happened to see a housekeeper on his way back to the room and was able to get some from her. Over an hour later they finally brought more toilet paper to the room so I’m glad we didn’t wait. Staff in general wasn’t the friendliest, but nothing too bad. Overall, would stay again! EDIT: Just do the valet. Got hit with a couple of parking tickets for extended parking months later even though there was no physical parking ticket ever placed on our car nor were there any signs indicating any kind of time limit.

Overpriced for what you get. Low quality rooms (for example TVs are at least 10 years old) You can hear everything from the street all night long even on the 6th floor. Everything smells musty/smokey. When I first got to the room it smelled like weed and I could clearly hear both neighbors talking loudly and inappropriately. Room never got serviced. Just very disappointing for what I expect from a Marriott.

This was one of the worst lodging experiences I've ever had across the entire spectrum of cheap motels to luxury hotels and Airbnbs all over the world including developing countries. What is made this hotel so extraordinarily bad is that the *entire* experience was mismanaged. When you arrive, you're forced to either valet your car for $35 or "it costs more" to self park far away. That sucks, but what's even worse is the valet team is either gone entirely or so incompetent that it takes a half hour to get your car. The check in attendant obviously hated her job and customers and was irritated by basic questions. Then you get to try the elevator roulette at the *single elevator* in the building. Half of the time, when the doors finally open, its completely smashed full of people or staff with huge linen carts. When you finally get in one you wonder how it can possibly so slow while trying not to breathe because they smell so bad. The room is "fine", but it smelled moldy. Go to open a window to air it out and only of the three are operable and that one only goes up about 5 inches. Want to wash it all off? Enjoy a luke warm shower. In the morning, check out the "bistro" where you can watch a clown show of well-meaning employees who have no idea how to organize or operate a coffee shop. While you wait 35 minutes for a coffee you can enjoy scenes such as the wrong orders being delivered, sloppy smashed sandwiches and repeatedly being asked what you ordered. This hotel is a masterpiece of dumb.
