This was our first time camping at covered bridge campsite, as well as our first time using our 30 year old renovated pop up camper. We had a lot of kinks to work out when he got there, but Kate and Louis jumped right in to help us, like we were their own family members! We have camped many times at state campgrounds, and often times never even saw anyone that worked there after check in. At covered bridge, the owners are so helpful with anything you may need. The grounds are kept very nice and clean. Bathrooms are newly renovated, always cleaned and stocked. We will definitely be returning!
Took my kids there 36 years ago. Went there with my son and grandchildren this past October. Brought back great memories. I love the campgrounds. They really need to upgrade the bathrooms and replace their dish washing sink. That done I would come back and give them 5 stars. I took two of my granddaughters this past October. They definitely Made some improvements at the campsites. They put in new picnic tables, which were very nice. They redid the bathroom, which is also very very nice. The only thing that was not redone was the dishwashing sink next to most of the campsites. The outhouse definitely needs a little bit of work, but overall it was a great experience and the girls loved it. I’m giving it four stars and I’m sure that we will be back in the future to camp. Keep up the good work.
Great campground. Large, mostly wooded sites on world class trout stream.
My family has been staying at Covered Bridge annually for the past 6 years. We have 2 kids, 10 and 12, and this is the perfect place for us. We stay in the secluded campsites because it really feels like you're in the Great North Woods of Maine. You don't hear cars or other people. All you see is the amazing forest, and hear the rush of the stream. It's truly fantastic. The two hiking trails are great for kids (waterfall, and riverside trails). The stream isn't deep or too powerful so it's great for kids. It also holds brown and brook trout that are a blast to catch on a small fly rod. I think kids could do well with worms or a small spinner. The management is super friendly and organized. Big plus this year, the Davidson General Store opened up about a mile down the road, and is a great spot for just about anything you might need, as well as good coffee and prepared food.
One of my favorite campgrounds to date! We stayed for 5 nights along the Willomec river during the colorful show of the leaves changing. This campground was the perfect setting to a fall vacation. We stayed in our camper and had water hookups. They have a dump station and a honey sucker. Lots of riverfront tent sites that were BEAUTIFUL and private. Across the bridge (closed to traffic) there are some trails to waterfalls along a creek that flows into the willomec. Breathtaking. The managers always asking if we needed anything. Very friendly. And the new bathhouse was gorgeous. Although we have a shower in our camper. I chose to use the facilities there instead. Would love to come back again!
