For local users in Taiwan interested in learning about campgrounds & RV parks internationally, we present information about Cow Creek North Campground, located in White River National Forest, CO-9, Heeney, CO 80498, USA. Please note that recent information indicates this campground is now primarily designated for group camping.

The campground is situated in a "spectacular place" that might be considered for an overnight stop. However, potential visitors should be aware of certain environmental conditions. Reviews indicate that the nearby lake has experienced very low water levels, surrounded by mud, which may impact swimming access.

One review, while seemingly referencing nearby Cow Creek South Campground (which Google may list as a road), offers insights relevant to the general area. This visitor noted some disappointment with their specific campsite (27) during a busy Memorial Day weekend, mentioning limited tree shade and close proximity to the creek but with a significant distance (a couple hundred feet) and open clay ground leading to the water. The lack of privacy was also a concern due to the closeness of campsites (specifically 27 and 28) and neighboring campers having many visitors.

It's important to note that according to one visitor, there are no discernible hiking trails directly accessible from the campground itself. However, the campground roads are described as "nice big loops," suitable for walking. For those seeking overnight stops, this might be adequate, but those desiring direct trail access may need to explore options elsewhere in the area.

Regarding amenities and services, the provided information does not detail specific facilities. However, one review mentions cell service, noting that T-Mobile was non-existent, while AT&T provided a connection via a hotspot. This suggests that cellular connectivity may be unreliable depending on the provider.

Currently, there is no specific promotional information available for Cow Creek North Campground in the provided reviews. Potential visitors should be aware of the transition to a group campground and the environmental and privacy considerations mentioned by previous visitors when planning their trips to the White River National Forest area.

Although this is now a group campground, it's still a spectacular place to stop and even consider for an overnight stay. The only downside is that the lake was very low and it's surrounded by a mud, so you have to really want to go swimming to get to it. If you travel much farther south, then you run into the traffic from the next big town.

NOTE: This is about Cow Creek South campground, but Google currently doesn't display that as a campground, just a road. :( This was a quick one-night stop for my dog and me over Memorial Day weekend. I was a little disappointed at the campsite we were in (27), the tree shade really ended just south of us. I've camped around here before, just never tried this one. I was not very impressed compared to many others in the area, The site, while at the creek, was really a couple hundred feet from the water, with some brush delineating the campsite and then just open clay ground down to the water. Campsites 27 and 28 are very close together - the people next door were friendly but had lots of people over to party during the day. At one point there were seven dogs there(!!). The visitors did leave by 10 pm. And the camp host got on them very quickly about fireworks. Just not a whole lot of privacy for us. There are not any trails directly from the campground that I could see. We did hike the campground roads, which were nice big loops. For an overnight stop, this was fine. Next time I would choose campsites 24 or 26 from what I could see - some nice shade from the west side on those campsites, and grass for the site itself. Cell service: T-Mobile was non-existent here. Our van has a hotspot through AT&T that kept us connected through our stay (this was a common theme).
