We stayed here for 3 nights. Sites have full hookups with 20, 30 and 50 amp service. Ms Janey is a great host! The campground is clean, quiet and peaceful. Sites are plenty spacious for back-in and easy to maneuver. We have a 40’ 5th wheel. We would definitely stay here again! There are plenty of sites right on the water edge to take in the beautiful sunrise.

Cowford is a great, hidden gem on the banks of the Tennessee River. We called last minute for an overnight spot, but when we arrived and saw the location, I asked about extending another night, and Miss Janie said no problem!! She showed us several spots and let us choose. We chose spot 12, right on the waters edge. We could see the sunrise and sunset over the river from our spot. The park is older, but it is clean and very well maintained. Miss Jainie works her tail off keeping the place up. The spots are gravel and fairly level. Some spots are pull through, some are back-in, and others are pull-offs parallel to the drive. The park does have full hook-ups, with shower and laundry facilities. The park does need some minor repairs and upgrades, which they are in the process of doing. They do not have Wi-Fi, but we had full AT&T service. Since you're close to Huntsvillle, we were able to pick up the local OTA t.v. stations; about 50 stations OTA. The rates are EXTREMELY, HIGHLY reasonable; less than $30/night. We highly recommend Cowford for an overnight or extended stay!!

I love going here & taking my schnauzer, Sam. He loves it too, until other dogs appear & then he acts like he's such a baddie. This is a great place for gathering small shells too!

The camp is kinda small to have 53 lots. And with the huge pine trees, getting in some of the lots can be tight. But there is plenty of shade to say the least. There is a wonderful view of the Tennessee River and the sun rises from across the river. They have gated access, a boat launch and swimming area. The they have full hook-ups, 30amp and 50amp. A bath house is available, but not sure if it's year round or not. So far the camp is pretty much quiet as a mouse. The manager lives on-site and I think the maintenance guy does too. The manager is awesome, she is a cut up. When I called to get my lot she told me "cash, check, or money order, no chickens" lol. I didn't ask if the lot prices are all the same but my lot is $367.50 per month, which is MORE than reasonable all things considered. I thought that was an odd amount, but maybe thats another piece of humor. I will try to update again and add some pics later.

We have stayed there for a couple of months in the fall and it is a fantastic campground. It is small but the people there are so friendly we felt as though we had stayed there many many times. Janey is in charge of the campground and she is amazing and one of the hardest working women I have ever seen.If she is not on her lawnmower she is on the tractor or weed eating or with a blower in her hand. She goes out of her way to help everyone out to make sure that their stay is a pleasure. While we were camping there was a Birthday party for Wade (Janey's helper) that we were invited to that was awesome with lots of food and the party would have until a storm came up. We were also invited to a fish fry by Celesta and the fish was the best I had in a long time. Thank you Celesta A Freeman and Wade Bivens yall are awesome fish fryers. It's hard to get a spot there but well worth the wait. Thank you Janey Bailey, Wade and the rest of the campers there for a great stay! !
