Customer Reviews
Nice camping spot with a lovely stream and areas for fishing!
The campground was picturesque and perfect for tenting. It had open Adobe huts with fire pits inside. In other lots there was a fire pit and a picnic table. The bathroom was the cleanest I have ever seen. If your looking for privacy it's not the place to camp. Its constantly packed on the weekends. It's perfect for picnics and socializing with other campers.
Beautiful hike from Cowles Campground to Stewart Lake. We were turned around by deep snow on the north slope as it warmed. Would recommend taking snow shoes for the last mile of the hike. Some of the trail was icey in shady areas. If it continues to warm the trail maybe passable without snow shoes.
Great place to go during winter. Very quiet and easily accessible.
I'm a local so my review may be a bit biased but you'd be hard pressed to find a prettier place to camp and hike. The Pecos wilderness is unbelievably beautiful and magical.
