Introduction / Overview

Cowskin Bay Campground is nestled on a scenic point of Keystone Lake, providing campers with stunning waterfront access and panoramic views. It's often referred to as "Cowskin Bay South Campground" and is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which oversees many recreation areas around Keystone Lake. The campground is characterized by its peaceful ambiance and its focus on natural beauty, making it a favorite for those who appreciate quiet enjoyment of the outdoors.

A notable aspect of Cowskin Bay, as highlighted by a visitor, is the opportunity for "free and peaceful" camping for up to 14 days. This makes it an incredibly attractive option for budget-conscious campers or those seeking an extended stay without incurring daily fees. However, it's important to verify current regulations and availability, as free camping policies can sometimes change or apply to specific, more primitive sections.

Beyond camping, the area around Cowskin Bay is rich with recreational opportunities. Its proximity to "The Other Side" marina, mentioned in a review, suggests a community aspect and easy access to additional services like boat rentals or a place to enjoy a meal by the water. The emphasis on "memorable" sunsets further solidifies its appeal as a tranquil and visually appealing destination.

We went to the ‘The Other side’ marina today and really enjoyed ourselves! Their prices were spectacular and we played a few rounds of dominoes that they provided. This is definitely one of our favorite places to go. Not to mention the sunsets… the view is so memorable

Fun beach to explore and find driftwood. I even found a wooden tulip created by nature on the beach and an almost perfectly preserved water turtle. My 10 year old daughter was excited to find part of a wild pig face with tusks ☺️
