Coyote Run Tipi Retreat Introduce

Welcome to Coyote Run Tipi Retreat, an exceptional destination that redefines the camping experience. Nestled in a scenic location just south of Thermopolis, Wyoming, this retreat offers a distinctive blend of outdoor immersion and luxurious comfort, perfectly aligning with the "Campgrounds & RV Parks" category by elevating traditional camping to a glamorous "glamping" adventure. It's an ideal spot for those seeking to connect with nature without sacrificing modern conveniences, providing a unique alternative to typical RV parks or tent campgrounds.

Environment and Setting:
Coyote Run Tipi Retreat is situated on a sprawling 60-acre property, offering breathtaking views that stretch across vast scenic valleys and the majestic Big Horn Mountain range. Perched over 100-foot drop-offs into the canyon, the views extend for over 100 miles, creating a truly spectacular backdrop for your stay. The retreat overlooks the point where the Wind River meets the Big Horn River, known as the Wedding of the Waters, adding to the natural beauty and significance of the location. To the south, you can see the Wind River Indian Reservation, further enriching the sense of place and connection to the land. The property embraces its natural surroundings, and while it offers high-end camping, guests should be aware that it is still very much in nature, with encounters with wildlife like coyotes, hawks, and quail possible, and a friendly outdoor barn cat may occasionally say hello. The setting encourages guests to disconnect from the everyday hustle and reconnect with the tranquility of the wilderness.

Services and Accommodations:
Coyote Run Tipi Retreat distinguishes itself through its unique accommodations: eight large, fully furnished tipis, each 22 feet in diameter (452 sq/ft). These aren't just empty canvas structures; they are meticulously appointed to provide a comfortable and luxurious stay. Each tipi comes equipped with a refrigerator/freezer, complimentary drinks and snacks (with no additional charges), and a microwave, ensuring guests have immediate access to refreshments. The beds are designed for comfort, with cozy furnishings that guests often praise for their restful qualities. While the tipis offer a high level of comfort, it's important to remember the nature of tipi construction, meaning doors cannot be locked and there are openings at the top for airflow. Guests are welcome to bring their own portable propane or electric heaters, as the tipis are open and unheated, and not weatherproof in times of heavy rain or snow. Fires or cooking are not permitted inside the tipi spaces. Clean laundry, bathroom, and shower facilities are typically available near the main office or communal areas, ensuring hygiene and convenience for all campers. The retreat also offers ample parking directly in front of the tipis, beside a gravel access road, making arrival and departure hassle-free.

Features and Unique Selling Points:
The primary feature of Coyote Run Tipi Retreat is its unique "glamping" experience. Our family had an amazing time staying in the tipis. We had everything we needed and were fully accommodated. Some of the most breathtaking views to wake up to. They took so much time making this a hidden gem. I highly recommend for anyone looking to get away from the city life and was thankful they were pet friendly.

It was so fun! We had a good time, but the temperature dropped to below freezing & it became too cold for us to stay the whole trip.

My husband and I were wandering through on an anniversary trip beginning of October, when we came across this hidden gem, while looking for more unique places to stay, as we don’t like chain hotels. This will probably one of our most memorable vacations ever. The host made us feel more like we were visiting family. And it is family run, right down to their kids and the super friendly dog. They were incredibly generous and informative about the area and history, and they literally thought of everything in the teepee, from electric blankets, outlets, to snacks and everything in between. It even has a mini fridge and coffee pot, and the big bed was so cozy comfy, covered in beautiful quilts and warm blankets. They gave us a tour of all the available teepees and let us pick which one we wanted to stay in. And the views were so worth it. Absolutely worth the stay, and we plan on coming back again! I cannot say enough good things about the entire experience.

This was by far one of the best lodging experiences my family and I have ever had. The owners are wonderful people with a clear vision for this community. They have built a masterpiece in Hot Springs County. They meet you and show you around the Tipi Retreat when you arrive. Each tipi is unique with great amenities inside. My children, 6 and 9, loved the bunk beds. We were able to bbq each evening while enjoying the most breathtaking views! The sunrises are just as spectacular as the evenings and we enjoyed coffee and preparing breakfast together. My family had the best time and made great memories….. Thanks again Tipi Retreat!
