I love Crabtree falls and I really enjoyed having this beautiful waterfall trail less than 3 miles from my campsite. The atmosphere is beautiful especially in the fall and the weather was perfect for making a fire. I can't wait to go back. My only drawback was the wind blowing it sounded like an wind storm every night. Thankfully for the tent pads my tent never blew over

Crabtree Falls Campground is a great place to spend the night or a few. Clean restrooms , clean facilities. Camp sites for tents are small each site has a pad for the tent which is level. A fire pit and picnic table. No showers. Hiking trails at the campground. Rv’s have their own loop and up to 50 ft only a few rest are smaller. Sites are 20.00 a day.

Take time to do the trail to the waterfall. It’s better to go counter clockwise. The waterfall will present itself to you better and it’s easier to climb stairs than descend stairs. The water fill station is located just past the dump station. The bathroom house near us did have running water. I expected just pit toilets. The only reason for the 4 star and not 5 is the unfriendly attitude of the gate ranger.

The falls trail is gorgeous and the view of the falls is worth the effort. We were just surprised that there were no bathrooms or portable toilets and that the campground (which is currently closed) is so run down. It looks like the park could use some additional funding.

Nice location along ridge in mountains of blue ridge parkway. Great tent camping loop, no electric, no water, good restroom building. Lots of big campfires 🔥 burning. Some campers don't follow etiquette for walking around, not thru, other persons campsites. Overall good.

Absolutely beautiful waterfall! Well worth the hike! I took my one year old, it is strenuous in some areas so make sure you have a carrier with you if have small ones. They have restrooms at the campgrounds, you walk right through the campgrounds on your way to the falls so don’t worry. It took us about an hour.
